NO. 4 STARR’S MILL V NO. 7 NORTH OCONEE (2.24.21)

Phillip Ard, 1B, North Oconee, 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, broad shoulders, lean muscle, lots of room to fill out. Open, relaxed setup at the plate, hands load back smoothly with good rhythm, short stride, great balance and good timing. Quick, strong hands, smooth swing, barrel path is mostly level through the zone, gets extension through the zone. Drove the ball to the pull-side. Went 3-for-3, BB, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 R.

Joe Waddell, LHP, North Oconee, 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, long frame, plenty of room to fill out with additional strength. Appeared out of the bullpen for North Oconee vs. Starr’s Mill. Worked two scoreless innings, allowed one hit, zero runs, one walk, struck out two. Tall and fall delivery, high front-side, works across the mound, landing closed, finishes crossing over quickly. Arm works long to a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 81-84. Curveball, 66-69, slurve-like, big breaker.

DALTON V NO. 21 CALHOUN (2.23.21)

Andon Lewis, 1B, Calhoun, 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, broad frame, strength throughout frame, continues to add more and more strength to his frame. Had a big offensive game against Dalton. Went 4-for-4 with a 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R. Has always possessed advanced strength at the plate, now he is tapping into in-game. Swing works short to the zone, quick, strong hands, ball jumps off the bat, especially when he gains extension through the zone. Even on pitches he miss-hits, the ball comes off the bat hot. Nearly hit a third home run in the game on a ball he just missed barreling, resulting in an RBI double off the wall.

Kaleb Valdez, 1B/OF, Dalton, 2021

Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 185-pound left-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder, proportional build, strength throughout. Balanced setup, smooth rhythm in hands, cocks hands on load, short stride, good balance. Drives the ball pull-side, smooth swing works somewhat uphill through the zone, gets the barrel out early.

CREEKVIEW V KELL (2.23.21)

Nathan Halperin, SS, Kell, 2021
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10 170-pounds. Halperin managed to drive in one of the Longhorns runs that would be the deciding factor in their win. Strong defensive ability for the senior in the field. Moves well side to side and has a strong enough arm to make the tough plays in the hole. At the plate he has a simple swing, picks the foot up and sits it back down. High contact guys with a nice a level bat path.
