Georgia 2023 Rankings: High Risers

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

Just before Christmas, the PBR Georgia staff released an updated and expanded version of the Class of 2023 Rankings. We broke the news with a detailed analysis of the top-10 prospects in Georgia. Today, we are going to take a look at some of the high risers, prospects that have risen up into the top-47 of the rankings, nationally ranked prospects. We will come back and take a look at prospects further down the rankings in content to come.

Two prospects who we profiled in our analysis of the top-10 prospects that need to be mentioned are No. 5-ranked Georgia commit RHP/3B James Hays (Westfield Academy) and No. 10-ranked 3B/RHP Tai Peete (Trinity Chtistian). Hays was on the outside looking in when our rankings debuted in the fall of 2019, ranking No. 12. Since then he has risen all the way to No. 5 thanks to some big time stuff on the mound. Peete made his presence known at the 2020 PBR Future Games with Team Georgia. He has huge upside in his fame and was a favorite of the National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt. One of the youngest prospects at the event, he excelled at the plate and when he took the mound.

A guy who makes his debut at No. 13, SS Antonio Anderson (Tri-Cities), has a big tool set and could be set to gain even more helium as he continues to develop and mature.
