PBR Georgia Player of the Week: LHP Cade Fisher & 3B Bryson Lofton

Phil Kerber
PBR Georgia Scouting Director

The very first Player of the Week of the 2021 season will feature a pitcher and a position player. The year got off to a cold start, but teams took to the field regardless. This week's Pitcher of the Week is awarded to LHP Cade Fisher (Northwest Whitfield; Florida), and taking home the Hitter of the Week is 3B/1B Bryson Lofton (Southeast Whitfield; Cleveland State CC).

Fisher missed the entire 2020 season recovering from an ACL injury, so this was only his second ever start on varsity, getting one start as a freshman in 2019. He made up for lost time in a hurry, as the southpaw tossed a no-hitter, striking out 21, including 16 straight at one point against Dade County. The only blemish on his record were two dropped fly balls resulting in two errors.

Our Hitter of the week, Bryson Lofton, is now a two time recipient of this award. He also took home this honor in 2020 for the week of Feb 23 to March 1st. Lofton won the award for the first time around by hitting an amazing 9-for-13 with four doubles, five singles, 10 runs batted in, three walks and four runs scored. This time around, he has put up an even more ridiculous stat line. For the week, Lofton went 12-for-14 with four singles, four doubles and four homeruns, totaling 11 runs batted in.
