PBR Georgia Player of the Week: LHP Colton Cosper & C Harry Ford

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

We are well underway into the 2021 season, and the big performances keep coming and coming from all corners of the state. Ending Carter Holton's two week run as Pitcher of the Week is LHP Colton Cosper (Carrollton; Mercer). And taking home the Hitter of the Week is the state's top ranked catcher, Harry Ford (North Cobb; Georgia Tech).

It came as no surprise to our staff when we saw the numbers Cosper was able to put up this week. Always regarded as high pitch ability south paw, Cosper carved up a talented Wesleyan lineup for seven innings in relief as he helped Carrollton secure a 4-2 10 inning win. For the game, the lefty allowed two hits, zero runs, zero walks and struck out 14 batters

Our hitter of the week is widely regarded as one of the top catching prospects in the upcoming 2021 MLB Draft. Ford has always been known for his advanced defensive abilities, but he is starting to turn heads with his bat. Over the course of last week, Ford hit .667 (8-for-12), with two doubles, one triple, one home run, six runs batted in, five runs scored, three walks and two stolen bases.
