PBR Georgia Player of the Week: RHP Rem Maxwell & 3B Cole Turner

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

Another week in the 2021 season is in the books, and that means received another batch of player of the week submissions filled with stat filling performances. Claiming his first ever Pitcher of the Week honors is RHP Rem Maxwell (Jefferson; Georgia Southern). We have another first time winner in our Hitter of the Week, 3B Cole Turner (Decatur; uncommitted).

Maxwell took the mound against Chestatee last week and was dominant from start to finish. The big right-hander went all seven innings without allowing a hit or a run, all while striking out 15. The only blemish on his line was two walks. Other than that, Maxwell did not allow a runner to reach base.

As for the uncommitted Turner, he had a monster week at the plate, helping Decatur to go 4-0 on the week and improve their overall record to 15-4. Turner went 8-for-14 with a whopping 10 runs batted in and 10 runs scored. Among those eight hits were one double and one home run. On top of all that, Turner also threw a four inning no-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two.
