Parkview vs Blessed Trinity

Blake Davis
State Director, Georgia

Over the weekend top prospects matched up as Blessed Trinity pulled off a 4-2 victory over Parkview HS.  Miles Garrett (2020) got the call on the mound for Parkview verse a strong offensive club in Blessed Trinity. Though he did not have his best day on the mound, taking the loss while giving up 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks in just 3.2 innings of work.

Miles Garrett RHP / Parkview, GA / 2020

It was still easy to see what Vanderbilt saw in this young athletic RHP. Garrett worked in the mid-80's with his FB and flashed feel for a true CB. The little right hander has a fast arm and a repeatable delivery, with more strength on the way. This sophomore will be one to watch in the years to come for the perennial power Parkview Panthers.

Garrett's battery mate did his part during the action.  Catcher Jonathan French (2019) collected a RBI on a sac fly to centerfield and having a strong showing behind the plate.  French and Garrett will be a tough combo deal with this year and next.

Jonathan French C / Parkview, GA / 2019

Jonathon French is a strong presence at the plate with power and a straight away approach.  He also handles the catching duty and shows a compact accurate arm stroke. He put those skills on display in this game by cutting down the speedy CJ Abrams (2019 Alabama Commit) at 3B in the bottom of the 4th in a clutch spot.

Blessed Trinity's offense proved to be a force over weekend taking home the Red Division Title. They were led by tournament MVP second basemen Jake Smith and his red hot bat. The uncommitted Junior hit a cool .583 on the weekend.

Blessed Trinity is blessed with athleticism up the middle of the field in shortstop CJ Abrams (2019 Alabama Commit) and centerfielder Ryan Davis (Uncommitted 2019).

CJ Abrams SS / Blessed Trinity Cath, GA / 2019

Abrams gave his commitment to Alabama Friday and now that the big decision is behind him he looks poised to have a big Junior campaign. Abrams has a level stroke that stays in the zone and impact speed to boot. He is also filling out and showing more power at the plate. He is in position to be one of the top players in the country in 2019, with the ability to play up the middle and be a top of the order bat with a legit run tool.

Ryan Davis OF / Blessed Trinity, GA / 2019

Davis was an aggressor on the bases over the weekend. Even though he does not offer high end speed he is quick and has a high baseball IQ. Defensively he shows enough range to stay in centerfield at the next level. The right handed hitting centerfielder has room to get stronger and offers a contact bat.

These two players are going to pay dividends for Blessed Trinity throughout their junior year because of the athletic ability up the middle of the field.
