Season Review: Cartersville

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

Cartersville Purple Hurricanes

Record: 7-6

Team notes: Went 3-0 in the Battle For Bartow to win the tournament, defeated Houston County and Helena, AL to win our pool at the Hoover, AL High School Showdown (lost in semis and consolation game to Winder-Barrow, 8-7 in 12 innings)

Arm action is long to a low ¾ slot. Fastball sat 82-84, touched 85, 86, armside run action due to action and slot. Changeup 77, some heavy sink action, created swing and misses as it dropped off the table. Curveball, 70-72. An interesting prospect given how much filling out his frame still has left to do.
