Top Prospect Upperclass: Quick Hits, Two-ways
Bradyn Oblas, OF/RHP, 2027, Blessed Trinity
One of the biggest winners of the entire event in all aspects was Oblas as he put together a statement showing on both sides of the ball. Big-time strength litters the physical 6-foot-2, 240-pound frame with present athleticism as well. Clocked in at a 7.13 6-yd backed by a strong first step (1.66 10-yd). Finished with one of the loudest rounds of the day as he posted a max 106.0 and average 96.8 exit velocities. Sent multiple no-doubt home-runs way out to the pull-side and produced a max distance of 379ft. Shows a thunderous barrel in-zone backed by significant bat speed and real strength in the frame. Good separation with explosive hands and easy leverage through the zone for effortless carry to the pull-side. Works from a direct path and ball simply jumps at contact. Quality actions in the outfield with solid footwork and arm strength (87 OF velo), and chance to profile long-term in the corners. On the mound, Oblas showed well as he lived in the zone with all three pitches. Creates easy drive downhill with a stout lower half and loose arm stroke from a near over-the-top slot. Fastball sat 85-87 with arm-side run through the zone and flipped a curveball over at 73-75 with late-depth. Mixed in another distinct breaking ball with a slider at 72-76 and some bite. The robust profile for Oblas continues to grow and remains one of the top uncommitted two-ways on the market that can impact a club in a multitude of ways at the next level.

Jaylen Seabrooks, SS/OF, 2027, Georgia Premier
Uncommitted. Seabrooks had a good all around day as he had a very good round of BP and a good outing on the mound. Seabrooks has a minimal weight shifting load that helps generate power from the ground while also staying through the zone with his aggressive swing and quick hands. He worked mostly poolside in a line drive centered round where his max EV was 100 off the bat. On the mound Seabrooks worked with a 2 pitch mix featuring a fastball and a slider. His fastball sat between 84-86 where he topped 89 with armside run, his slider sat between 76-78 with good feel as he generated a lot of swing and misses. Watch for seabrooks to have a good summer and senior year as he heads into his final year.

Dominick Hopkins, 1B/RHP, Canton Homeschool
The uncommitted 2027 has all the physical tools that you could ask for in a player. The 6-foot-5, 200 pound 2-way had a great showing at the mound and at the plate. At the mound you see the long arm get put to use as he gets great extension as he finishes down the mound. Really uses those long legs to push him down the mound and generate that force to pitch hard. A 3 pitch command, FB that topped 87, SL sitting around 69-71 has a real sweep motion, and a CH that sits at 73-75. At the plate he uses that same leg drive just in his swing motion. Using a big leg kick to generate force and send the ball gap-to-gap. The physical size and presence is there, as the summer continues the kid looks to continue to grow and rise on the prospect chart.
2027 RHP/1B Dominick Hopkins had a good showing in relief.

MJ Lane, C/RHP, 2027, Jones County
The uncommitted 2027 had a great showing today at the Top Prospects showcase. The 2-way started his day off on BP where he consistently worked LD and has power to all parts of the field. Then in the showcase game Lane started his day in the box and behind the plate. In Lane’s first AB he goes down and gets to a low FB and drives it into the LCF gap for an RBI 2B. Defensively behind the plate Lane was very smooth and confident of his pitch calling and catching abilities. Throughout the showcase game he constantly made great blocks behind the plate and would throw out 2 runners. Then, Lane got on the bump where he had a more side arm slot. In his pitching outing he would throw a FB which averaged 83-85 and topped out at 87.5. To pair with the FB he threw a nasty CH which averaged 75-76 and caused a lot of swing-and-misses and strikeouts looking. He also threw a wipeout slider that he tunneled very well with all of his other pitches. His SL averaged 74-75 and kept hitters unbalanced. Lane is a prospect to keep looking out for as he starts his senior season of high school at Jones County.

Aakash Gorantla, OF/RHP, 2027, Lambert
The 6-foot-1, 187-pound rising senior had a great all around day at Tuesday’s Top Prospect Games. Starting in the outfield, Gorantla turned some heads as he showed off an electric arm topping out at 96 from right field. At the plate, he displayed good rhythm and flow with a powerful frame and swing topping out at 98.1 EV. In games, Gorantla continued to hit, showing he has the ability to go to all fields with some authority. On the mound, he was effectively missing barrels with a heavy 85-87 Fastball and a freezer 72-73 Curveball with depth. A really impressive day from Gorantla.

Judson Pankow, 1B/LHP, 2027, Woodstock
The 6’0, 197-pound rising senior showed all of his tools in Tuesday's Top Prospect Games. At the plate, he was producing a lot of loud contact showing a flat bat head through the zone and power to the pull side. On the mound, Pankow really impressed with a two pitch mix. The Fastball was 85-87 with arm side run and the Slider was 72-73 sweeping across the zone. Pankow really mixed his pitches well, attacking the zone and keeping hitters off balance. Showed really good feel for the breaking ball with the ability to throw for a strike in all counts. Look for Pankow to have a good senior season.

John Cook, OF/RHP, 2027, Pope
Uncommitted. Cook had a strong showing hitting, in the field, and pitching. Cook started his day at BP where he had a max EV of 98.9 mph and power to all parts of the field. Then, Cook moved on to his 60-yard where he ran a 7.00 and had a 1.63 10 yard split. Next, in the OF he looked really smooth. He constantly had good routes to the baseball and good strong throws to home. Cook then moved on to the showcase game where he roped a FB to the LCF gap for a stand up 2B. He ended his day off on the mound where he threw his FB that averaged 86-88 and topped out at 89. He paired his FB with a strong SL the averaged 76 with RPMs 2400-2600. Cook is prospect that is on the rise and ready to develop during summer and high school seasons.

Brock Holcombe, OF/RHP, 2027, Lakeside
The uncommitted Lakeside RHP put up a lot of upside into his Junior season and carried it over this summer. Showing athleticism on the mound delivery pitches with ease. The 6-foot 175 pound frame projects a lot of power with more to come. Holcombe commands the 89 MPH fastball early with the ability to land sliders with a hard sweep allowing swings and misses. Shows clear ability to keep the hitter thinking and off balance.

Quin Brown, OF/RHP, 2027, Wesleyan
Uncommitted. Brown had an all around good day as he had a good outing on the mound and was very good at the plate. Brown has a rhythmic load and stays on plane through the zone very well with a smooth effortless swing. Brown had 2 hits in the game, one going back UTM for a single and the other he shot out to left field for a backside 1B. On the mound Brown had a 2 pitch mix consisting of a fastball and a slider, the fastball sat between 80-82 and the slider sat between 69-71 with good feel for it. Look out for Brown to have a good summer and senior season for the Wolves.
