West Georgia Fall ID: Quick Hits
October 28, 2024
CARROLLTON, GA - The Prep Baseball Georgia Staff traveled to Carrollton, Ga for the West Georgia Fall ID held at the University of West Georgia. This event was an opportunity to see a talented group from the 2025-2028 class. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw using Trackman. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Sunday.

Quick Hits
Kaleb Binion, 2026, OF/1B, Carrollton
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 185-pounds. The stock continues to rise for Binion, who put on an absolute show throughout his round of BP. Binion does an excellent job of leveraging the barrel through the zone backed by above-average bat speed and obvious feel. Generated multiple triple-digit exit velocities in the round, including an event-best 104.0 that produced a monster pull-side HR at 388ft. Athletic actions in the outfield and first base with good flexibility and footwork that allows for some quality range at both positions. Present arm strength as well in the mid-80s from the outfield and across the diamond. Binion holds strong positional versatility as well as real impact in the bat, and will be an asset to many different programs at the next level.
Standout performance from 2026 OF/1B Kaleb Binion today.

Physical 5-foot-10, 185-pounds that looks even stronger than when we saw him in the summer.
Explosive round of BP, multiple EVs over 100, Max 104.0 ‼️

Durrah Butler, 2025, OF/RHP, Lee County
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 209-pounds. Butler took the day off the gridiron to flex his physicality in a strong two-way showing on Sunday. The uncommitted senior stays extremely compact at the plate with minimal wasted effort throughout the swing. Found barrels consistently in both gaps with some impact in the barrel. Max exit velocity 97.5 for 2nd best in the event. Butler showed the present above-average arm strength while reaching back for 90 with accuracy in OF drills as well as touching 89 on the mound as he closed his bullpen. Butler will be looked upon for a major role this spring with Lee County.

Grant Chaffin, 2028, OF, Central
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 158-pounds. The Junior Future Games alum just continues to impress in every setting we’ve seen him in the last 12 months, and we are nowhere close to seeing the ceiling. Opened his day with an event-best 6.90 on a wet, slower track before showing an explosive 31 inch vertical jump. At the plate, Chaffin has an advanced left-handed cut that finds barrels at a high clip. The outfielder stays well-connected and compact with tremendous plate coverage through the zone. Chaffin displays an all-fields approach already where he uses the gaps well and lets his above-average speed thrive. The impact in the barrel is quickly growing with present bat speed and ability to rotate that produces exit velocities in the low-90s. The freshman has a real chance to be a major factor in Georgia’s initial 2028 rankings this winter.
OF Grant Chaffin remains one of my early favorites in @PrepBaseballGA 2028 class.

Bradley Willingham, 2028, SS/RHP, Central
5-foot-11 158-pounds. We first saw Willingham in March of last year, and he has really developed since then. He had a strong showing at the Junior Future Games over the summer. The added strength and size has really paid dividends both at the plate and on the mound. He had one of the most consistent rounds of BP on Sunday. He was top 5 in average exit velocity, spraying line drives to all parts of the field. Willingham has a chance to make an impact as a freshman at Central both at the plate and on the mound. He will be a good follow over the next 4 years of high school ball.

Gavin Carlee, RHP/OF, North Oconee, 2026
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Impressive showing from the right hander on Sunday as the CH was the most intriguing pitch in the arsenal. CH sat 75-77 with the definition of tumble and killed spin at 700 rpm, manipulation and confident. FB showed life up in the zone at 80-84. CV 72-75 with tight spin and a late breaker that darts away from righties. A present lower-half that showed whip in the arm. Name to know in this stacked 2026 class.

Austin Fox, RHP, Augusta Christian, 2026
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame. The athletic RHP deployed an intriguing arsenal on the mound. Throws from an over the top arm angle with clean repeatable mechanics. Leverages the long frame well to get downhill with ease. The fastball with natural sink and late-life sat 81-84 at 2260 RPM. The change-up was shown in the 75-76 range while creating depth and paired nicely with the fastball. The slider was thrown in the 73-76 range that produced late-bite with sweep. There is substantial projection remaining within the arsenal and frame. Name to know.

Gunner Fokken, C/RHP, Carrollton, 2027
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 171-pound frame. Fokken is primed and ready for a big spring at Carrollton. He saw time as a freshman last season, and pitched in some key situations that will have him ready to go in his sophomore season. The added strength and size has really taken his game to the next level. He was up 85 this fall with a clean and efficient delivery that is only going to add more velocity down the road. He had a strong BP round from both sides of the plate, and really showed off the added strength with some loud barrels from the left side. Fokken is going to be a key contributor this spring on the mound, behind the dish and at the plate.

Daniel Head, RHP/3B, Cherokee, 2026
Uncommitted. 5-foot-9, 198-pound frame. Provided a deceptive look with dynamic movement patterns on the mound. Throws from a deceptive ¾ arm slot with repeatable mechanics. The fastball was thrown in the 75-78 range with arm-side run. The changeup sat 70-73 with tumble and slight fade. The slider was shown in the mid to upper 60’s at 66-69 and produced a slurve shape with the ability to manipulate. Not only produced on the mound but in the box as well. Delivered a max exit-velocity of 88 at the plate. Displayed a compact stroke with a direct path to the ball. Delivers a heavy barrel with present ground-force strength.

Chase Landmesser, OF, Mount Paran Christian, 2025
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 175-pound frame. Our first look at Landmesser was in the 2024 state playoffs where he went on a huge run at the plate. The frame stands out, and shows athleticism throughout his game. He has broad shoulders, and can really generate a ton of power at the plate. He had an event 2nd in average EV at 85.2 with a max distance of 334ft. He is one of the top uncommitted infielders on the market for the 2025 class and will be a key contributor for Mt. Paran this spring.

Luke Dolsen, LHP/OF, North Paulding, 2026
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 162-pound frame. The athletic southpaw produced a standout showing on the mound Sunday afternoon. Leveraging the long, athletic frame well to produce good extension while getting downhill with ease. Deployed an intriguing three-pitch mix. The fastball sat 79-82 and topped at 83 with late-life and arm-side run. The changeup was shown in the 71-75 range with fade. The curveball showed gradual, tight movement in the 69-73 range. A clean repeatable over the top arm action was on full display from the junior. A name to know in the Spring for a loaded North Paulding squad.
