Big Island Wood Bat Academy Scout Day: Statistical Analysis
August 22, 2023
On Sunday, August 20th, Prep Baseball Report hosted it's first ever Scout Day in Hawaii with the Big Island Wood Bat Academy, a showcase exclusively for players within the program, at Walter Victor Field in Hilo, Hawaii.
The event gave our staff a look at 45+ players within the program with 2024-2028 classes with plenty of uncommitted talent. The event featured several standout performers from five different classes and we begin to break it all down below with our Statistical Analysis.
Scout Days allow our staff to get an exclusive look at players within the individual program, run them through our series of tech partners for evaluation and update their profiles with video, headshots and metrics. If you are interested in running a Scout Day for your program, please reach out to PBR's West Coast Supervisor, Brett Harrison.
All players ran through our series of our tech partners including TrackMan and Blast Motion for batting practice, as well as TrackMan for pitcher bullpens, Swift Performance athletic testing and complete metrics and velocities on the defensive side.
Below, we break down all of the data collected at the event with leaderboards that include metrics from batting practice, pitcher bullpens and defensive evaluations.
