Eamon Hannan, SS/RHP, Graves County HS, 2015hannan

At 6-foot-3, 163-pounds, Eamon Hannan possesses a very long, lanky, and projectable frame, and he showed very well at the Kentucky Top Prospect Games in June at Eastern Kentucky University.  Hannan registered a 6.85 60-yard dash and 82 mph arm strength across the infield.  He flashed his bat speed with an 89 mph exit velocity off the tee and followed that up in game action with two solid singles while also showing the ability to drive the ball the other way with a triple to the right-center gap.

Hannan continued to impress at the Top Prospect Games when he took the mound.  Using long and loose arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, Hannan’s fastball sat 83-85 mph, and he threw arguably the best slider of the day at 77-78 mph with late bite.  He established himself as one of the top players in the 2015 class, and earned a roster spot on Team Kentucky at the Midwest Future Games.

At the Midwest Future Games in August, Hannan showed an 84 mph arm across the infield and again showed the ability to drive the ball the other way with a double to right-center against Team Indiana, but it was his performance on the mound that generated some buzz among the many college coaches in attendance.

Hannan’s fastball sat 84-86 while touching 88 once, and his slider again showed the late bite it did a few months earlier.  He retired the side in order in his one inning of work against Team Wisconsin, striking out two of the three hitters he faced.

Hannan, currently ranked No.9 in Kentucky’s 2015 class, transferred this year from St. Mary to Graves County HS where he will be counted on to lead the Eagles this spring.
