We talked about the jump in velocity Jonathan Allen showed after his performance at our January event in Louisville. The 6-foot, 175-pound lefty impressed that day with a 79-81 mph fastball and a sharp 67-71 mph curveball. He has used that increase in velocity to have an impressive season for Christian Academy of Louisville.

Last week, Allen fired a complete game, two-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over No. 12 Elizabethtown. He was in complete control the entire game, issuing just one walk to go along with eight strikeouts.  Allen also saw a move up the recently updated 2017 rankings, and will take the mound at the Top Prospect Games on June 15.

For his performance on the field, CAL 2017 LHP Jonathan Allen has been selected the PBR Kentucky Pitcher of the Week for May 2-7.
