2020 Louisiana All-State Games - Infielder Analysis

Jaxon Adams C / 3B / Denham Springs, LA / 2023

Athletic 5’ 11”, 150 lbs. frame with room to add strength. The 2023 RHH hitter works from an athletic, balanced stance; small stride with balance throughout swing. Creates solid bat speed with a gap-to-gap approach, flat bat path that stays on plane through contact resulting in an exit velocity of 83 mph.  Developing athlete, showed improved actions during the infield workout with clean exchanges into a high-¾ release producing an improved positional velocity of 80 mph. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Posted a 2.00-2.07 pop time behind the plate and a positional velocity of 72 mph.

Giancarlo Arencibia SS / RHP / Archbishop Rummel , LA / 2024

Wiry, athletic 5’11” 140 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Above average runner that posted a 7.15 in the 60.  Hits from a taller, athletic set-up with a simple load and stride to get into the hitting position.  Uses his long and lean frame to create leverage.  Flat bat path with good extension throughout the swing that allowed him to consistently square up balls using the middle of the field.  Max exit velocity of 79 mph.  Athletic actions in the infield, soft hands, clean exchanges, with no wasted movement in getting rid of the baseball.  Short arm action, released the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph. 

Carter Bankert SS / RHP / Dutchtown , LA / 2024

Athletic and lean, 5’8” 120 lbs. frame that has plenty of room to add strength.  Hits from a balanced and athletic set-up bringing his hands from low to high as he uses a toe-tap load.  Came out of his lower half at times during his BP round.  Bat path worked uphill through the baseball with good extension that produced a max exit velocity of 70 mph.  Average footwork, soft hands, with clean exchanges in the infield releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that resulted in a 68 mph positional velocity.  Ran an 8.47 in the 60.  

Kasen Bellard SS / RHP / Barbe , LA / 2024

Athletic and physical 5’11” 155 lbs. frame that should continue to fill out as he matures.  Really good athlete that posted a 7.16 in the 60.  Hits from a slightly wide, balanced stance with some weight pre-loaded in his back leg.  Simple, up and down load that allows him to repeat his swing.  Does a really good job of engaging his lower half in the swing.  Hands sit shoulder high, flat bat path throughout the swing, consistently squared up balls during BP round showing present gap to gap power that resulted in a max exit velocity of 82 mph.  Soft hands, athletic actions, releasing the ball from a low ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 80 mph.  During game portion showed the ability to play multiple positions in the infield and played them all at a high level.

William Boneno RHP / SS / Catholic(BR), LA / 2022

Physical and still developing 6’1” 172 lbs. frame. Above average athlete that posted a 7.26 in the 60.  Hits from a tall, athletic stance with good rhythm in his hands as he loads and strides.  Uses a modified leg kick.  Repeated his swing well during the BP portion, showing balance throughout the swing and a flat bat path.  Max exit velocity of 84 mph.  Average footwork, clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that resulted in an 83 mph positional velocity during the defensive portion of the day.  On the mound, worked quick and pounded the zone.  Showed an above average FB that sat 84-87 mph, topping out at 88 mph.  FB played up during the game.  Good spin on his 11-5 shaped CB that 74-75 mph.  Also, showed a developing 70-72 mph CH.

Grant Breaux SS / RHP / Catholic Baton Rouge, LA / 2024

Projectable, long, lean 6’1” 150 lbs. frame that will continue to add strength.  Up and down rhythm in his hands.  Tall stance in the box using an up and down modified leg kick to get his swing off.  Came out of his back side at times, showing a flat bat path, working slightly uphill through the baseball.  Present gap to gap power that resulted in an 86 mph max exit velocity.  Defensively, showed soft hands catching the ball clean, average footwork, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced an 83 mph positional velocity.  Ran a 7.41 in the 60.

David Brumfield C / 3B / Albany , LA / 2021

Strong 5’10” 180 lbs. frame. At the plate, the RHH begins in a tall, open stance with rhythm in his hands, using a leg kick to get back to center.  Produced an 84 mph exit velocity, showing extension through the baseball and a slightly uphill bat path.  The 2021 C showed above average arm strength as he produced a positional velocity of 78 mph.  Clean exchanges, good footwork, and a short, quick arm action produced a pop time of 1.85-1.97. Throws had carry and were accurate to second base.  Ran a 7.47 in the 60.  

Coleman Capaci RHP / OF / Archbishop Rummel, LA / 2024

Still developing 5’9” 140 lbs. frame with plenty of room to grow and add strength.  Begins in a tall, athletic stance, hands held high, using a leg kick to get into the hitting position.  Contact hitter for now, really using his hands to stay inside the baseball.  Look for him to use more lower half as he continues to progress.  Produced a max exit velocity of 83 mph.  Showed good reads during the defensive portion of the day, catching balls in rhythm from the OF.  Released from an over the top arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 79 mph.  Ran a 7.87 in the 60.  

Wes Carr SS / 2B / Mandeville, LA / 2024

5’10” 155 lbs. frame that will continue to add strength as he matures.  High motor type of player that was all over the field at the All-State Games.  Posted a 7.12 in the 60.  Hits from an open, athletic stance using a “knee to knee” leg kick to get into the hitting position with his bat head rested on the top of his back shoulder, bringing it up before getting his swing off.  Direct bat path to the baseball, used the middle of the field well during the BP portion of the day that resulted in a 79 mph exit velocity.  Defensively, showed soft hands catching the ball cleanly with athletic footwork releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot that resulted in a 76 mph positional velocity.

Wyatt Chenevert LHP / OF / Catholic (BR), LA / 2024

Long, lean 5’10” 130 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  The LHH starts in a tall, open stance, using a toe-tap load to get back to center.  Worked a lot of balls to the pull side in his BP round that produced a max exit velocity of 71 mph.  Attacked the ball well during the OF defensive portion of the day, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced an OF positional velocity of 73 mph.  Also showed his ability to play 1B.  Stayed low, received the ball with average hands, and showed a quick release that produced a positional velocity of 72 mph.  Ran a 8.00 in the 60.

Landen Chustz OF / 1B / Catholic (BR), LA / 2023

Physical, athletic 6’2” 190 lbs. frame.  Hits from a narrow, tall stance, with little movement in his hands, using a leg kick to get his swing off.  Did a really good job of staying behind the baseball at contact with good extension, driving balls consistently from gap to gap.  Aggressive swing that produced a max exit velocity of 92 mph.  Good reads in the OF, over the top arm slot that resulted in an 82 mph positional velocity.  At 1B, showed average hands, athletic footwork, with a quick release that resulted in a 75 mph positional velocity.  Ran a 7.18 in the 60.

Grant Comeaux 3B / 1B / Barbe , LA / 2022

Physical, 6’1” 185 lbs. frame that will continue to add strength as he develops.  Hits from a balanced, athletic stance standing a little taller in the box, using his frame to create leverage in the swing.  Stays behind the ball really well with a compact stroke.  Flat bat path with good extension, showed present gap to gap power that resulted in a 92 mph exit velocity.  Improving defensive actions in the infield.  Athletic footwork, clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 82 mph.  Throws were accurate to 1B with backspin and carry.  Posted a 7.18 in the 60.  

Cole Cranford SS / RHP / Catholic , LA / 2023

 Projectable 6’0” 175 lbs. frame with broad shoulders that should continue to fill out.  Good athlete that posted a 7.19 in the 60.  Hits from a balanced an athletic set-up.  Simple load and stride picking his foot up and putting straight back down.  Aggressive swings during BP round, slightly uphill bat path, showing gap to gap power that resulted in a max exit velocity of 90 mph.  Average footwork, caught the ball cleanly with a short, quick arm action during the defensive portion of the day.  Throws had backspin and carry that resulted in a positional velocity of 85 mph.

Kyle DeBarge SS / 3B / Barbe, LA / 2021

Athletic 5’8” 150 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  The 2021 University of Louisiana signee got behind the plate as a catcher for the first time in five years at the Louisiana All-State Games.  Came out of his stance slightly early, but showed excellent footwork, quick exchanges and a plus arm that produced an event best 83 mph positional velocity and a 1.76-1.85 pop time.  Quality receiver and blocker, as he threw out a would be base stealer during the game portion on a block and recover situation.  The RHH hit from an athletic, slightly open stance, using a simple up and down load to get his swing off.  Uphill bat path, showed present pull side power that produced a 94 mph exit velocity.  As an infielder, showed soft hands, advanced footwork, and a plus arm that produced a 92 mph positional velocity across the diamond.  A really good runner as well, as he posted a 6.70 in the 60.


 

 

 

Alex Dupuy SS / RHP / Natchitoches Central , LA / 2023

Athletic 5’11” 160 lbs. frame with wide shoulders and narrow hips that will continue to add strength.  Good athlete that posted a 7.20 in the 60.  Hits from a taller, athletic stance with good rhythm in his hands, using a modified leg kick to get back to center.  Stays behind the baseball well, good rotation in the lower half with a flat bat path and good extension that resulted in an 85 mph exit velocity.  Defensively, showed good reads and jumps off the bat, presenting the glove early, clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 82 mph.  Throws had backspin and carry to 1B.

Evan Folse RHP / OF / Fontainebleau, LA / 2023

Physical 5’10” 190 lbs. frame. Hits from a tall and open stance, laying his bat down at shoulder height, using a leg kick to get back to center.  Slightly uphill bat path, good extension, with some present pull side power that resulted in an 85 mph exit velocity.  Good reads from the OF, average footwork, with an over the top release that produced a positional velocity of 83 mph.  Average hands, good footwork for a physical player in the IF, with a quick release that produced an INF positional velocity of 82 mph.  Ran a 7.94 in the 60.

Owen Galt 2B / RHP / Barbe, LA / 2024

Athletic and wiry 5’9” 130 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Twitchy athlete that ran a 7.42 in the 60.  Hits from a slightly tall, athletic stance.  Gets his front foot down early to hit.  No wasted movement in the swing with a direct bat path and good extension through the baseball that produced a max exit velocity of 81 mph.  Advanced infield actions with a quick first step, athletic footwork moving through the baseball with clean exchanges.  Short, quick arm action releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot that resulted in a positional velocity of 82 mph.   

Brenton Gant SS / 2B / Mandeville, LA / 2021

Athletic and compact build at 5’9” 155 lbs.  Hits from an athletic, slightly tall and open stance.  Simple load and stride to get back to center.  Used the middle of the field well during the BP portion of the day.  Repeated his swing with a flat bat path working slightly uphill through the baseball with good extension that resulted in a max exit velocity of 90 mph.  Athletic actions during the defensive portion of the day with clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot.  Short, quick arm action that resulted in an 82 mph positional velocity.  Ran a 7.00 in the 60.

Konnor Graham RHP / 1B / Hammond, LA / 2023

Physical and projectable, 6’5” 195 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  Hits from a slightly open, balanced, athletic set-up.  Good rhythm in his hands, working them from up to down, using a modified leg kick to get back to center.  Present strength in the swing, especially to the pull side.  Flat path to contact with slightly uphill extension through the baseball.  Produced a max exit velocity of 92 mph.  Defensively,  showed average hands with athletic footwork, especially for his frame.  High ¾ release that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph.  Posted a 7.36 in the 60, as well.

 

 

Aaron Guichard SS / 2B / Holy Cross, LA / 2024

Athletic, 5’10” 135 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Posted a 7.36 in the 60.  Hits from a balanced, athletic set-up with the bat head laid rearward towards the catcher.  Toe-tap load with an uphill path through the baseball resulted in a max exit velocity of 78 mph.  Defensively, presented the glove early, showed soft hands and average footwork.  Arm action was a little long at times.  ¾ arm slot that produced a 74 mph positional velocity. 

Gabe Guidry 1B / 3B / Barbe, LA / 2024

Physical, 6’1” 200 lbs. frame that should continue to add strength as he matures.  Hits from a tall, athletic stance using a toe-tap load to get back to center.  Direct bat path working down through the baseball with good extension.  Showed some present gap to gap power that resulted in a max exit velocity of 85 mph.  Average footwork, soft hands, catching the ball out in front, releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot produced a positional velocity of 68 mph.  Ran a 7.82 in the 60.

Gavin Guidry SS / RHP / Barbe, LA / 2022

Projectable, long, lean, and athletic 6’2” 165 lbs. frame that will continue to fill out.  Advanced athlete that posted a 6.75 in the 60.  Hits from a tall, athletic set-up, gliding out with the front foot to get in an athletic hitting position.  Impressive BP round where he showed present gap to gap power.  Direct bat path with excellent extension through the baseball resulted in a max exit velocity of 93 mph.  Advanced infielder with athletic footwork, quick and clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 92 mph.  Projects well on the mound as well with a clean, repeatable delivery, releasing the baseball from a high ¾ arm slot.  FB sat 88-91 mph, topping out at 92 mph, with late, riding life through the zone.  Average spin rate on FB was 2234 RMP.  CB was best secondary pitch, showing the ability to land it for strikes and put hitters away with 2 strikes.  Near “12-6” in shape, the CB sat 75-76 mph.  Advanced feel for his 81-82 mph straight CH with the same arm action as his FB. 

Trey Hawsey 1B / LHP / West Monroe, LA / 2024

Physical and imposing, 6’0” 200 lbs. Frame.  Hits from a tall, athletic set-up with his hands held above shoulder height.  Glides out with the front foot to get in his legs and into the hitting position.  Stays behind the ball exceptionally well with a direct bat path, extension up through the baseball.  High IQ hitter that flashed some pull side power in BP round.  Max exit velocity of 92 mph.  Good defender at 1B that showed athletic footwork moving through the baseball, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that resulted in a positional velocity of 75 mph. 

Luke Hill SS / 3B / Episcopal, LA / 2022

Athletic and physical, 6’0” 190 lbs. frame with broad shoulders and narrow hips. Excellent athlete that ran a 6.82 in the 60.  Really impressed during the BP portion of the day.  Athletic, slightly open stance.  Uses a “toe-tap” load to get his swing off.  Flat and direct bat path working up through the baseball.  Violent hacks, but was able to maintain control and balance throughout the swing showing off real pull side power that resulted in a max exit velocity of 99 mph.  Defensively, showed athletic actions, soft hands, clean exchanges with little to no wasted movement moving through the baseball.  ¾ arm release that resulted in an 88 mph positional velocity.  Throws had backspin, carry, and were accurate to 1B.

Matthew Keller SS / RHP / Zachary, LA / 2023

Compact and athletic 5’6” 150 lbs. frame. Really stood out during the defensive portion of the day, making a diving catch on a ball up the middle, showing his athleticism by quickly getting to his feet and delivering a strike to 1B.  Athletic actions, presents the glove early to the baseball, releasing it from a ¾ arm slot that produced a 78 mph positional velocity.  Hits from a slightly open, balanced stance.  Simple load and stride with minimal movement that allows him to repeat his swing.  Understands what he is trying to do at the plate.  Stayed inside the baseball with a flat bat path that produced a max exit velocity of 77 mph.  Ran a 7.72 in the 60.

Hayden Kibbe SS / 2B / Dutchtown , LA / 2021

Athletic, 5’9” 172 lbs. frame that should continue to fill out as he matures.  Good, overall athlete that posted a 7.08 in the 60.  Hits from an athletic, balanced set-up with no wasted movement in the swing.  Showed good bat to ball skills, balanced throughout the swing, consistently squaring up baseballs to the middle of the field that resulted in a max exit velocity of 88 mph.  Defensively, showed athletic actions in the infield, catching the ball cleanly with good exchanges.  Short, quick arm action releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot that resulted in an 80 mph positional velocity. 

Aidan Lambert SS / 3B / Catholic (BR), LA / 2022

Athletic and physical 6’0” 175 lbs. frame that should continue to add some strength.  Really good athlete that ran a 6.82 in the 60.  Hits from an athletic and balanced stance, hands pre-set off the back shoulder, using a simple load and stride.  Aggressive swings during BP round.  Fires the back hip, flat bat path working up through the baseball with balance throughout the swing.  Showed gap to gap power that resulted in a max exit velocity of 93 mph.  Defensively, showed athletic actions, active footwork, staying low to the ground as he moved through the baseball.  High ¾ arm slot that resulted in a 78 mph positional velocity. 

Jackson Legg 1B / LHP / Calvary Baptist, LA / 2023

Physical and athletic, 6’3” 190 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  The L/L 1B showed soft hands and advanced footwork during the defensive portion of the day.  Moves well laterally, catching the ball in rhythm with feet working through the baseball.  Short, quick arm action, releases the ball from a high ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 76 mph.  Hits from an athletic, balanced stance.  Simple load and stride with minimal movement allows him to repeat his swing well.  Flat bat path with good extension through the baseball.  Gap to gap hitter with some present power that should continue to develop as he matures.  Max exit velocity of 91 mph.  Ran a 7.50 in the 60.

 

 

Tyler LeJeune SS / 2B / Iota, LA / 2022

Athletic and physical 5’10” 175 lbs. frame.  Overall, really good athlete that posted a 6.82 in the 60.  LHH begins from a balanced, athletic set-up.  Uses an “up and down” leg kick to get back to center.  Rhythm in his hands during his load process.  Violent and aggressive swings during BP round using his lower half to really turn the barrell.  Consistent hard contact that produced an exit velocity of 98 mph.  Defensively, showed soft hands and caught the ball cleanly.  Athletic actions, active footwork, working into a high ¾ release that resulted in an 82 mph positional velocity.  

Brandon Levy RHP / SS / Parkway, LA / 2023

Athletic and compact, 5’11” 170 lbs. frame. Good, overall athlete that posted a 6.93 in the 60.  Hits from a slightly open, tall, athletic stance, using a toe-tap load to get his swing off.  Present gap to gap power with a flat bat path working up through the plane of the pitch resulted in a max exit velocity of 92 mph.  Athletic actions in the infield, clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot resulted in a positional velocity of 90 mph.  Also, threw 92 mph from the OF.  On the mound, showed a repeatable delivery releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot.  Pounded the zone with every pitch during the game portion.  FB showed late cutting action as it entered the hitting zone, sitting 85-86 mph, topping out at 87 mph.  Big, looping, near “12-6” action on his 67-71 mph breaking ball that he consistently landed for strikes early in counts to get ahead of hitters.  

Sladen Lyles 1B / C / Springfield, LA / 2022

Physical and imposing, 6’2” 220 lbs. frame. Starts in a tall, slightly open, balanced stance. Simple load and stride, picking his foot up and putting it straight back down.  Bat path was a little steep at times with extension working slightly uphill through the baseball.  Aggressive and violent swings during BP round produced a max exit velocity of 90 mph.  Average hands and footwork around the bag at 1B, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced an 81 mph positional velocity.  Recorded a 7.40 in the 60.


 

 

 

Blayne McFerren SS / 2B / Calvary Baptist, LA / 2024

Athletic 5’9” 135 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Twitchy athlete that posted a 7.22 in the 60.  Hits from a balanced, slightly open, athletic stance, using a leg kick to load.  Front foot landed a little hard at times.  Flat and direct bat path to the ball.  Consistently squared up baseballs during his BP round, using the middle of the field that produced a max exit velocity of 83 mph.  Athletic defender, excellent reads off the bat, quick footwork moving through the baseball with no wasted movement getting the ball out of his glove.  Low ¾ release that resulted in a positional velocity of 77 mph. 

Mason Modica 1B / 3B / Dunham , LA / 2021

Physical and imposing, 6’0” 200 lbs. frame with present strength.  Hits from an athletic, slightly open stance with his bat pointed rearward towards the catcher.  Simple load and stride.  Rotational hitter that fires his back hip to generate power.  Slightly uphill bat path, consistently squared up balls gap to gap that resulted in a max exit velocity of 96 mph.  Defensively, showed soft hands, athletic actions, releasing the ball from a low ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph.  Also, ran a 7.43 in the 60.

John Pearson 3B / RHP / West Monroe, LA / 2024

Super physical 6’0” 210 lbs. frame.   The RHH starts from an athletic, balanced stance.  Simple load by picking his front foot up and putting straight back down in the same place.  Strong lower half that uses throughout the swing.  Showed present pull side power.  Consistently squared up baseballs during his BP round producing an event best 100 mph exit velocity.  Showed the ability to play multiple positions.  Good reads and jumps in the OF, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 88 mph.  Soft hands, average footwork, quick ¾ in the IF resulted in a positional velocity of 85 mph.  On the mound, Pearson is a bulldog, competitor, and strike thrower.  FB sat 83-85 mph, topping out at 86 mph.  Was able to keep the same arm speed on his 74-77 mph straight CH, that he was able to consistently land for strikes.  Also flashed a 70-72 mph CB.  Ran a 7.33 in the 60.  

Chance Reed 2B / RHP / Walker, LA / 2022

Athletic, 5’10” 160 lbs. frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Posted a 7.25 in the 60.  Hits from a slightly wide, balanced set-up using a simple load and stride to get back to center.  Hands are held above shoulder height, working back as he gets into the hitting position.  Direct bat path with good extension that resulted in a max exit velocity of 82 mph.  Defensively, showed a quick first step, average hands, athletic footwork, releasing the ball from a low ¾ arm slot that resulted in a 74 mph positional velocity.  On the mound, showed a short, quick arm action with a repeatable delivery.  FB sat 76-78 mph, topping out at 79 mph.  Average CB that 66-68 mph. 

Nicolas Schwing SS / 2B / Mandeville, LA / 2023

Athletic, 5’10” 145 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  Hits from a tall, open stance using a simple load stride to get into the hitting position.  Direct bat path with good extension allowed him to consistently square up baseballs from gap to gap. Max exit velocity of 85 mph.  Defensively, showed a good first step, athletic footwork moving through the baseball, clean exchanges with a short, quick arm action.  Released the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 80 mph.  

Andrew Sieta SS / OF / Brother Martin, LA / 2023

Athletic 5’7” 155 lbs. frame with strength in the lower half.  Overally, good athlete that recorded a 7.04 in the 60.  Hits from a slightly open, balanced and athletic stance with rhythm in his hands.  Load and stride are simple with minimal movement.  Really sinks into his back leg to generate power, creating a direct path with slightly uphill extension through the baseball.  Gap to gap type of hitter that recorded a max exit velocity of 87 mph.  Athletic infielder with a quick first step.  Gets excellent reads off the bat, works his feet into a good position to catch the ball out front with soft hands.  Good footwork moving through the baseball with a short, quick arm action, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot right by his ear that produced a positional velocity of 72 mph.  


 

 

 

John Alex Walsh RHP / 3B / Alexandria, LA / 2023

Projectable and physical, 6’1” 180 lbs. frame that has room to add more strength.  Good athlete that posted a 7.10 in the 60.  Hits from a tall stance with some weight pre-loaded in the back leg.  Hands are held high and work to just below shoulder height as he uses his “knee-knee” load to get his swing off.  Aggressive swings during BP round.  Stayed behind the baseball well, slightly uphill bat path, showed gap to gap power that resulted in a 92 mph max exit velocity.  Average footwork in the infield with clean exchanges, releasing the ball from a ¾ arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 84 mph.  

Taylor Walters SS / 2B / Central, LA / 2022

Athletic 5’11” 170 lbs. frame with room to add strength.  LHH beings in a tall, slightly open stance.  Uses a simple, knee to knee load, bringing his hands back as he gets to foot strike.  Repeatable swing.  Stays balanced throughout the swing.  Consistently squared up balls back through the middle of the field that produced a max exit velocity of 86 mph.  Athletic actions in the infield.  Good first step off the bat, active feet to get on the right side of the baseball, played through everything, releasing the ball into a ¾” arm slot that produced a positional velocity of 71 mph.  Throws were accurate to 1B.  Ran a 7.22 in the 60.

Caleb Webb C / 3B / Walker, LA / 2022

Physical and sturdy 5’10” 185 lbs. frame. The C from Walker HS is another riser in the 2022 class.  RHH hits from an athletic stance with rhythm in his hands, using an almost knee to knee load to get into his hitting position.  Used his lower half extremely well during BP showing present pull side power, as he consistently made hard contact throughout the round that resulted in a 95 mph exit velocity.  Excellent receiver with strong hands, developing footwork, and improved arm strength that produced accurate throws to second base with a positional velocity of 75 mph and 1.90-2.02 pop times.  Also threw 84 mph across the infield and posted a 7.42 in the 60.

Drake Weller RHP / 3B / Live Oak, LA / 2022

Physical 6’0” 160 lbs. frame that has room to add strength.  Hits from a tall, balanced stance, using a simple load and stride to get back to center.  Came out of his back leg at times during his BP round.  Slightly uphill bat path through the baseball that resulted in a max exit velocity of 87 mph.  Defensively, showed average footwork, soft hands, with a short and quick arm action, releasing the ball from a high ¾ arm slot.  Posted an 85 mph positional velocity.  On the mound, primarily got ahead of hitters by pounding the zone with his 81-82 mph FB, topping out at 83 mph.  Above average spin rate on the FB at 2100 RPM.  “10-4” shaped CB that he landed for strikes at 71-72 mph.  Flashed an above average CH as well at 73-76 mph.
