Louisiana Insider: Possible 2018 Super 60 Candidates

With more than 100 scouts in attendance, the 15th Annual Super 60 Pro Showcase delivered many highlights by prospects from our 30 plus state coverage area on Sunday, Feb. 7 at The Max in McCook, IL. Throughout the coming weeks we will produce content highlighting the top performers, the biggest risers and much more from the event.

Although statistics only paint a partial picture of how well a player performed, these numbers are pretty telling for early February:

The lone player to represent the state of Louisiana at this year’s Super 60, was Louisiana State recruit, Jacob Pearson (West Monroe). Currently ranked No. 3 in Louisiana’s 2017 class, No. 20 Overall, and No. 38 in Nathan Rode’s PBR Draft 100, Pearson has been a mainstay atop Prep Baseball Report Louisiana’s rankings since its inception. Originally committed to Mississippi State, Pearson attended PBR Louisiana’s very first event, the 2015 Underclass Trials. As a rising junior, Pearson put up incredible numbers, posting a 6.5 60-yard dash and 100 mph exit velocity, in addition to hitting nearly every ball he saw out of the yard during batting practice. Flash forward to Sunday, and not much has changed. The Super 60 certainly is a spectacle, and can be nerve racking, with hundreds of professional scouts watching every move the players make
