North Louisiana Open: Catcher Analysis

On Saturday, August 20, prospects from across the state of Louisiana participated in the Prep Baseball Report North Louisiana Open at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA.

Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana takes a look at the catchers that were in attendance.

Catchers

+ Bryce Ware, C, Junction City(AR) HS(2019)
A 5-foot-7, 130-pound catcher with a lean, athletic frame. Solid defender with average hands, solid footwork, and clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 71 mph from the crouch and a pop time of 2.06. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, short stride and solid balance. Line-drive type hitter with loose rhythm, level path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 79 mph. Also posted a 7.54 60 yard dash.

+ Connor Wyly, C, Neville HS(2018)
A 6-foot-1, 176-pound catcher with a lean, athletic frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and quick, clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 75 mph and a pop time of 1.94. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, smooth load, leg lift and quality balance. Line-drive type hitter with solid rhythm, level path, strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 86 mph. Also posted a 7.60 60 yard dash.
