Underclass Showcase: Outfield Analysis

On Tuesday, July 19, 24 prospects from across the state of Louisiana participated in the Prep Baseball Report Underclass Showcase at Holy Cross high school in New Orleans, LA.

Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana takes a look at the outfielders that were in attendance.

Outfielders

+ Cole Cavallo, OF, Northshore HS(2018)
A 6-foot-1, 205-pound outfielder with a strong, athletic frame. Right-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, leg kick, explosive lower half and quality balance. Gap to gap, power type hitter with fluid rhythm, slightly uphill path that creates quality extension and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 93 mph. Solid defender with average hands, solid footwork, clean exchanges and plays through balls well.  Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity 81 mph. Also posted a 7.08 60 yard dash.

+ Dylan Kinler, OF, Dutchtown HS(2018)
A 5-foot-9, 140-pound outfielder with a medium, lean frame. Solid defender with average hands, fluid footwork, and clean exchanges. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 79 mph. Left-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, no load, short stride and solid balance. Opposite field type hitter with some rhythm, slightly uphill path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 72 mph. Also posted an 8.01 60 yard dash.

+ Jake Mareno, OF, De La Salle HS(2018)
A 6-foot, 190-pound outfielder with a strong, athletic frame. Quality athlete that posted a 7.1 60 yard dash. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, smooth load, leg kick and solid balance. Line-drive type hitter with some rhythm, in and out path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 83 mph. Solid defender with average hands, fluid footwork and clean exchanges. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 74 mph.

+ Alex Milazzo, C/OF, Zachary HS(2019)
A 5-foot-10, 165-pound outfielder with a strong, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, quick and fluid footwork, quality receiver, and showed quick, clean exchanges. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 85 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from an athletic setup, smooth load, leg kick and quality lower half. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, short  path, advanced approach and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 81 mph. Also posted a 7.1 60 yard dash.

+ Halen Miller, OF, St. Amant HS(2018)
A 6-foot-3, 170-pound outfielder with a lean, athletic, projectable frame. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, bar in the load, short stride and solid balance. Line-drive type hitter with some rhythm, creates quality extension and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 81 mph. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and clean exchanges. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 87 mph. Also posted a 7.53 60 yard dash.
