2018 SS/RHP Cameron Daigle (Brusly) continued to impress at Sunday’s event showing fluid actions defensively from multiple positions. Daigle also displayed quality arm strength recording a positional velocity of 86 mph from the outfield and the infield.
2018 SS Hunter James (Denham Springs HS, LA) had a solid showing. An athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame with a lean build, the right-handed hitter stands tall with a balanced setup, an abrupt leg lift load, flat path into natural uphill finish and solid bat speed posting an exit velocity of 87 mph. Defensively, James worked through balls well with fluid footwork, soft hands and quality arm strength posting a positional velocity of 85 mph.
2018 LHP Larry Barabino (Warren Easton HS, LA) displayed a quick arm with raw ability. Fastball topped at 85 mph, sitting mostly 82-84 mph with developing command. Secondary pitches are developing as well, as he showcased a 67-68 mph curveball with early break, and 11/5 shape.
2018 LHP Kade Gonsoulin (Catholic(NI) HS, LA) had a solid day on the bump, showing a quick, medium arm stroke sitting 81-84 mph with his fastball that he commanded in the strike zone. As well, he flashed a sharp breaking ball with tight spin and depth at 71-73 mph.
2018 C Jeremy Harris (Comeaux HS, LA) displayed present strength and stiffness in stroke recording one of the top exit velocities of the day at 95 mph.
2018 OF Landon Leblanc (St. John HS, LA) showed off quality athleticism on Sunday, posting a 6.90 60-yard dash. The right-handed hitting outfielder took a quality round of batting practice as well, using a line-drive approach and a simple, direct path to the baseball with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 90 mph.
2018 C Alex Watermeier (Jesuit HS, LA) stands at an imposing 6-foot-4, 210-pounds. The left-handed hitter took one of the better rounds of batting practice at the event, using a line-drive approach spraying balls from gap-to-gap, and posted an exit velocity of 91 mph. Defensively, Watermeier showed solid catch and throw skills with carry on throws, posting a positional velocity of 75 mph and a pop time of 2.12-seconds.
2018 RHP Kevin Wayne Roca (St. Michael’s HS, LA) is a projectable 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with a lean, athletic frame that has room to add strength. Pitching 81-83 mph and showing quality downhill angle to his fastball, Roca creates deception to his delivery by using a strong front side that hides the release point well, while falling off to the first base side of the rubber.
