Winter Future Games Trials: Stats Breakdown

The Winter Future Games Trials took place on Sunday January 21st, at Segnette Field in Westwego, LA, home of Loyola University. The open event saw thirty players from all across Louisiana perform in front of several college coaches and the PBR Scouting Staff.
A complete recap of the event will be coming in the following weeks, but today we begin our post-event coverage with a look at the top statistical performers.
2020 OF Joe Delaney (Brother Martin HS, LA) showed off his high-level athleticism on Sunday, posting an event best 6.69 60-yard dash. In addition, Delaney threw 80 mph from the outfield, and the right-handed hitter posted an exit velocity of 89 mph.
2020 C Andrew Guidry (St. Thomas More HS, LA) showed off quality catch and throw skills on Sunday, posting an event best 1.93-second pop time, with a positional velocity of 75 mph. A left-handed hitter, Guidry showed off a simple, compact stroke during batting practice, making consistent hard contact and posted an 85 mph exit velocity.
2020 OF Cole Stromboe (Brother Martin HS, LA) is one to watch in Louisiana’s 2020 class, as the left-handed hitting outfielder had one of the performances from Sunday’s event. Offensively, Stromboe showed strength at contact during batting practice, finding the barrel consistently, and posted an event best 91 mph exit velocity. As well, he showed quality athleticism posting a 7.04 60-yard dash, and an event best 84 mph positional velocity from the outfield.
2020 3B/RHP Darian Duhon (North Vermilion HS, LA) posted an event best 84 mph positional velocity from the infield, and showed bat speed with strength at contact in his left-handed swing, posting an 87 mph exit velocity.
2020 3B/RHP Brennan Stuprich (Brother Martin HS, LA) stood out on the mound this Sunday, showing off a quality fastball with hard, late life to the arm side, touching an event best 86 mph. As a position player, the right-handed hitting infielder showed off his advanced strength, posting an 89 mph exit velocity, and threw 83 mph from the infield.
2020 C Benjamin David (Barbe HS, LA) impressed many in attendance on Sunday, showing advanced catching skills, posting a 2.07-second pop time, and a 75 mph positional velocity. As well, the right-handed hitter showed quality bat speed, posting an 85 mph exit velocity.
