Perennial powerhouse Sherwood has been the team to beat in recent years, winning back-to-back 4A State Championships in 2021 and 2022, as well as falling just short in 2019 (Runner-up). The Warriors return a plethora of talent from last year's state championship team, and have the depth on both sides of the ball that bodes well for yet another deep run in 2023.
On the bump, Coach Sean Davis will lean heavily on Senior two-way Amari Allen (Chipola), coming off a dominating '22 campaign where he was PBR Maryland's Player of the Year. Mac Crismond, Ben Berger, Griffin Flynn and Brian Scott (Maryland) all look to provide depth on the bump.
On the offensive side, it should be no surprise that the Warriors will put up a ton of runs. Led by Allen in the middle of the order, Brian Scott (Maryland), Mac Crismond, Ryan Bouma (Frostburg State) and Junior transfer Gavin Hughes should round out one of the more impressive top of the orders across the state. Senior shortstop Jack Andre can really pick it up the middle, and he and Sophomore standout Ryan Rey will provide the depth needed throughout the lineup.
