4A Playoffs

Severna Park 5, South River 4
Kody Milton
hits a go-ahead solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel Severna Park to the win.  Andrew Anawalt and Dylan Lenart have two hits and Matt Thomas knocks in two for the Falcons. Jake Vermillion goes 2-for-3 with three RBI for South River.  South River scores four runs in the first inning, then Falcons starter Spencer Dietrich settles down and quiets the Seahawk bats for five more innings before Kyle Weiner comes in to get the save.  South River starting pitcher Sean Healy has 14 strikeouts in the loss.

Wise 20, Northwestern 10
Nico Brooks
goes 2-for-3 with four RBI while Myles Woolfolk and Abrham Herrera each have two hits and three RBI to lead Wise to the victory over Northwestern.  Northwestern’s Rafael Calcaño goes 4-for-4 with two homeruns and six RBI in the losing effort.

Gaithersburg 6, Montgomery Blair 3

North Harford 1, Westminster 0
Luke Johnson
goes 3-for-3 and hits the go-ahead homerun in the bottom of the sixth to lead North Harford to the victory. Sean Bowling strikes out 12 and gives up three hits on the mound for the win.  Ryan Mills goes 2-for-3 to lead Westminster offensively and Brandon Martin gets the loss going six innings giving up five hits and striking out four.

Urbana 12, Damascus 2

2A Playoffs

Patterson Mill 7, Queen Anne’s 3
Billy Benson
goes 3-for-4 with an RBI and pitches a complete game giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out seven to help lead Patterson Mill to the victory. Jeff Noss has two hits for Patterson Mill.  Tyler Brown goes 3-for-3 at the plate and has an RBI for Queen Anne’s.

Southern 12, Patuxent 2
Truman Thomas
goes 3-for-3 with a homerun and three RBI and Dillion Waters has two hits and three RBI to lead Southern to the victory over Patuxent. Thomas gets the win on the mound striking out seven while scattering three hits and gives up two runs.  Alex Thompson has two RBI to lead Patuxent.

Eastern Tech 9, Lansdowne 8

South Carroll 7, Middletown 4

1A Playoffs

Brunswick 9, Allegany 1
Brunswick scores four runs in the fourth inning to extend their lead and add three insurance runs in the sixth to get the 9-1 victory over Allegany.  Taylor Itnyre, Tom McCarthy, Doug Pearl, and Andrew Wanger all have two hits apiece for the Railroaders. Pearl pitches five innings giving up 1 run on three hits and strikes out six.

Col. Richardson 17, Cambridge South-Dorchester 2
Colonels break open a 8-2 game scoring nine runs in the sixth inning en route to the commanding 17-2 victory over Cambridge SD.  Dylan Nepert had four RBI for CR who never let the Vikings get close in the game.  Jaret Bennett had three hits and Caleb Johnson got the win on the mound for the Colonels.

McDonough 6, Sparrows Point 5
David Larson
hits a walk-off three-run homerun to cap the Rams comeback from five run down in the sixth inning as McDonough gets the win. Peyton Myers goes 3-for-4 with an RBI and Lane Myers goes 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Rams.

Douglas 5, KASA 1


Calvert Hall 14, Mount St. Joseph 13
Calvert Hall comes back from a 11-2 deficit entering the bottom of the fifth inning and scores four runs in the final frame to get the come-from-behind-victory.  Gabe Nieto draws a bases loaded walk to end the game. Ian Elliot goes 3-for-3 with three RBI to lead Calvert Hall.  Alex Kriss goes 3-for-4 while Jeff Jones, Mike Finn, and Nick Delp all have two RBI each.  Andre Brown goes 2-for-4 with four RBI to lead Mount St. Joseph.  Calvert Hall moves on to the championship game on Sunday with a rematch against Archbishop Spaulding.


Boys’ Latin 8, Severn 1
Justin Ward
gives up three hits and strikes out 12 in a complete game effort to lead the Lakers in the win.
