The Rode Show: Hoeing Strikes Out 11

In December, it looked like Indiana’s 2015 draft class took a significant hit when RHP Bryan Hoeing (Batesville HS, IN) tore his ACL playing basketball and his baseball season was in doubt. But the Louisville recruit hit rehab hard and was back on the mound in April. It caught scouts by surprise and even Hoeing admitted it was ahead of schedule.
“Before the season even started, we were questioning if I was even going to be back in time for sectionals or anything like that,” he said. “I took rehab very seriously and worked my butt off to get back here. I’m just happy to be back.
“I’m a really big basketball fan and the whole season sitting on the sideline just killed me, watching my teammates go out there and compete without me. I really missed the competitive nature of sports. That made me want to work harder and get out there with my teammates again.”
