On Sunday February 18th PBR Maryland will host the Preseason All-State at Diamond Pros baseball facility in Glen Arm, MD. The biggest event prior to the high school season in Maryland will feature some of the top players and prospects around the state and put them all on one stage in front of the PBR scouting staff. As with all PBR events, all players will get their performance videoed and professionally edited to update or start their PBR Profile. Today we spotlight one of the players on the roster for the event.

Scouting Report
2.19.17 Lanky, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds. Compact smooth delivery building up effort and pitching with little effort. Longer free arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot and creating arm speed. Lands square to the plate with athletic finish. Fastball showed slight sink to the pitch up to 84 mph. Breaking ball has short break on the pitch with 11/5 action at 69 mph. Change up has near fastball arm speed with slight sink to the pitch at 74 mph
9.11.16 - Sawyers has an lanky athletic build at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds. He ran a 7.41 60 yard dash. Hits from an open, athletic stance with a smooth load back and a leg kick stride. Good rhythm to his swing with explosive hips and good balance throughout his swing. Short path to the ball, working uphill with extension through it, exit velocity of 79 off of the tee. At third base, decent feet, a wide base, and soft hands. Clean exchange, working through the ball well. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a short action and a loose arm action, position velocity of 75. On the mound, has a smooth drop and drive delivery with a short, loose, three-quarters arm action and normal effort. Shoulders uphill and slightly closed as he strides to a square landing with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 81-83 with some late boring action to it, topped out at 84 mph. Curveball has late 12/6 break and good armspeed, running 68-69. Change-up had good armspeed and fading action, running 72-74. Decent feel for all three pitches.
