Preseason All-State Session II

Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 5’11”, 180 pounds. Strong, athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate with hands pre-set in a good hitting position. Small leg kick load and stays short to the ball with a level swing path. Showed quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement. Gets good extension past contact finishing strong with one hand. Nice middle of the field line drive approach during BP.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Present strength and power to the alleys with more projected. Ball jumps off the bat.
Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: 2.01 - 2.14 pop times. Quick side-step out of the crouch squaring shoulders to the target. Throws were on a line and the ball showed carry. Very quiet body receiving, stick the pitch well.
Run: 4.45 home-to-first time.

2/16/19

MD Preseason All State

Solid frame at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Hits from the right side in an open stance with a leg lift striding slightly closed. Hands load back with a slight bat wrap and are short to the ball. Flat bat path with line drive tendencies and average lower half involvement. Exit velocity was 85 mph and showed potential for power as he grows into his frame. Got out from behind the plate a little too quick on pop times, but had a quick exchange to a short arm action. Threw from a low three-quarter arm slot at 74 mph. Pop times ranged 2.01 - 2.16. Home-to-first time was 4.60.

1/26/19

MD Freshman Free Showcase

Solid body type and 5’10’’, 170 pound frame with room the grow and fill out. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Loads hands into hitting position with a medium sized leg kick. Attacks the baseball with intent and a slightly longer stride. Showed quick bat speed and recorded a 76 mph exit velo. Off balance at times throughout swing but took some really good rounds where he squared up several balls. Slightly uphill swing path with pull-side power present in his swing right now. Quiet body behind the dish and receives pitches well. Showed some lateral movement to block balls in the dirt. Gains ground on throws to second base with a quick, clean exchange and short arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 67 mph.

11/03/18

MD Fall Invitational

Athletic body type and solid lower half. 5-foot-8, 160 pound frame with room to grow. Hits from a balanced, athletic, just slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth, rhythmic load with a small leg kick and average stride length. Short, slightly uphill swing path with a 72 mph exit velo. Generates some lower half involvement and stays behind the ball well. Gets nice extension through contact. Took two good rounds of BP. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with some pop and more projected. Quiet body and receives well behind the plate. Replaces feet and gained some ground on throws to second base. Throws from a high three-quarter slot at 62 mph. Pop times ranged 2.20-2.30.
