2013 Updated and Expanded Rankings

By Mike Penn
Scouting Director

Throughout the past 9 months we have seen hundreds of players across the state.  We have combed through statistics and showcase data and are pleased to release our updated and expanded 2013 Rankings.  The rankings now include 135 players from across the state.

The Top 10 has seen quite a few changes.  With the transfer of Alex Maloney (Chelsea HS) to join his family in Indiana, Jose Morales (Detroit Western Intl. HS) now slides into the No. 10 slot.  Also making an appearance in the Top 10 is No. 8 Tyler Bradner (Howell HS). Bradner has consistently shown good stuff through the summer months and into the fall.  Off the mound he has been as high as 92 mph coupled with a hard slider.  What is little known about Bradner is that he can swing the bat as well.

No. 1 Jackson Lamb (Bedford HS) retains his top position in the rankings but has now cracked the Top 10 in the larger PBR coverage area checking in at No. 9 regionally.

Nick Deeg (Lake Orion HS) also has made consistent waves this fall and finds himself at No. 2 in the state and No. 21 in the region.

Rising Stock

A couple names that shot up through the rankings are No. 14 Dakota Mekkes (Jenison HS), who has signed with Michigan State, and Brennan Kerr (Battle Creek Lakeview HS). Mekkes experienced a meteoric rise to near the top of the rankings thanks in part to his performance at the latest Unsigned Senior Showcase. Kerr also extremely well at the Unsigned Senior, showing he has been under-the-radar for far too long.

Many players are making their first appearance on the charts however a few notable players that have made a jump recently are Aaron Fadden (Gull Lake HS), Alex Lewandowski (Macomb Dakota HS) , and Nick Bredeson (BH Andover HS).
