With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Saugatuck Indians

Team Name: Saugatuck Indians
Head Coach: Dave Gawlak, 70-60
Division: IV
2015 Record: 18-12
Conference Record: SAC North 10-0
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/5

Coach Outlook:

"Coming into 2016 we only lost one player to graduation and return 11 from last years team. This group is very talented and led by All-State player Blake Dunn. Expectations are very high for this group teenagers."

  • Blake Dunn (pictured right), Junior ,RHP/SS/C, set 7 school records: 7 HR, 57 H, 57 RS, .589 BA, 1.31 ERA, 99 Ks, 3-year starter, 2nd team all-state, WMU commit.
  • Carsie Walker, Junior, RHP/Inf batted .300 BA, 1.79 ERA, 79 Ks, 8-1 record
  • Nick Putzke, Senior, RHP/OF, .347 BA
  • Dominic Tedaldi, Junior, RHP/1B, .327 BA

Top Underclassmen:

  • Evan Czarnecki, RHP/INF/OF, 2018. Can play every position, batted 247 freshman year, started every game, made only 2 errors all year .957.
  • Brad Dunn, LHP/1B, 2019, very fast and strong-armed left-handed pitcher.
