Central Michigan Recruiting Class

The Chippewa’s of Central Michigan University are led by Head Coach Steve Jaksa (11th year) alongside him is Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Jeff Opalewski (4th year).  The Chippewas participate in the competitive MAC conference.  In 2013 the Chips will add three quality athletes. Colton Bradley is a versatile infielder with great athleticism. Nick Deeg is a 6-5 lefty with a lot of upside on the mound with velocity at up to 91Mph. Robert Greenman is a hard nosed catcher with a tireless work ethic and a state championship under his belt.

Bradley (Gull Lake HS) earned All-State honors by putting up some big numbers hitting .485 with 4HRs and 51 RBI. Bradley’s 21 Doubles, 66 Hits and 136 Plate Appearances are all school records at Gull Lake HS.  Bradley has a lot of upside and seems to get better every time he takes the field.

Deeg (Lake Orion, HS) the 6-5 hard throwing left hander was highly recruited out of Lake Orion HS. Deeg chose CMU after putting up impressive numbers during his junior year. Deeg was All-State posting a 9-1 record with a 2.01 ERA, 101Ks in 66IP. Deeg also hit .441 with 36 RBI  and 39 Runs. Deeg will draw some attention from professional scouts moving forward into his senior season.

Greenman (Hudsonville HS) was a key member on the D1 State Championship Hudsonville HS team.  Greenman has a great arm and is fundamentally strong behind the plate. Greenman has a smooth swing and showed signs of power this summer playing for Grand Rapids Diamonds he hit .440 with 34 RBI and 19 Doubles.  We have seen Greenman plenty over the past few months and he is certainly the type of player that you can build a program around.
