Baseball has finally arrived in Michigan.  Today marks our first daily game round up of the season.  Three homeruns were hit on the day, including a grand slam by Marshall's Collin Neal.  Trenton struck out 16 hitter in their win.  Here is a look at the final scores and highlights.

Hanover-Horton 13, Hudson 3
Hanover-Horton 7, Hudson 5
Hanover-Horton senior Ryan O'dowd had a big day on the mound and at the plate.  O'dowd, who is committed to play at Adrian College, hit a homerun and picked up the win in Game 1, striking out seven.  Hanover-Horton has a young club consisting of eleven sophomores and five upperclassmen.  Sophomore Connor Johnson had four hits in the first varsity game of his career.

Marshall 8, Jackson 9
Marshall 5, Jackson 2
Senior Collin Neal blasted a grand slam in Game 1 for Marshall but it wasn't enough as they fell 9-8 to Jackson.  Game 2 was shortened (5 innings) due to the cold weather. Marshall ended up taking the second game 5-2, earning a split on the day.

Trenton 7, St. Mary's Catholic Central 3
St. Mary’s Catholic Central jumped out to an early 1-0 lead the end of their first at-bats.  But that lead was quickly forgotten as Trenton scored five in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Senior JT Conti, a Wayne State commit, had quite the day for Trenton.  Conti threw three innings for the Trojans while striking out six.  He also contributed a two-run homerun to put the game out of reach.  The Trojans had multiple hit performances by Conti, Nate Donovan, Garret Vandenburg, Jerry Labell, and Grant Dukus.  The Trenton pitching staff combined to only allow three hits on the day while striking out 16 collectively.
