MHSAA State Final Four Tournament - 6/14/18-6/16/18
Logan Wood LHP / OF / St Mary's, MI / 2020Report: 6-foot-2, 185 pound Michigan commit turned in a dominant performance on the mound throwing 8.2 scoreless innings allowing just two hits. Fastball was 84-86 MPH with good arm side run. Threw a three-pitch mix with a changeup at 77-78 MPH and a curveball 72-74 MPH with late break. Struck out 9 batters in the game, retiring 16 of the last 18 batters he faced. |
Saginaw Swan Valley vs Muskegon Oakridge - 6/12/18

Report: 6-foot-7, 195-pound pitching prospect turned in an impressive performance on the mound to help Swan Valley advance to the State Semi-Finals. After allowing a leadoff walk to start the game, Ross was lights out retiring the next 15 batters he faced. Fastball sat 84-86 MPH for the first two innings before settling in at 82-84 MPH. Showed good command of his curveball sitting 70-72 MPH with 11/5 break. Threw 5.1 no hit innings striking out 7 batters. Also drove in both of Swan Valley’s runs in a 2-0 win. |
Utica Eisenhower vs Rochester - 6/2/18

Report: Fantauzzo, a Saginaw Valley State commit, tossed a complete game gem in a 3-0 district semi-final victory over Stoney Creek. His fastball ranged 83-86 MPH and showed great arm side run. His curveball was effective early in the game, sitting 71-73 MPH, and was able to throw it for a strike early and late in counts. Held Stoney Creek to just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 8 in aiding his team to a district championship appearance. |
Fakota vs Chippewa - 6/2/18
Eero Perkola C / 3B / Dakota, MI / 2018Report: Went 2 for 3 with a double down the line and single right up the middle, along with a walk. He’s contact hitter that drives the ball, especially inner half of the plate. Calm body movement with quick hands. |
