Birmingham Groves vs Birmingham Seaholm - 6/7/16

Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 180-pound switch-hitting prospect has a wide back and well developed lower half. Warren is Groves most feared hitter drawing an intentional walk to load the bases. He displayed good power driving a ball to deep center with an effortless smooth cut. He's a smooth fielding SS with good range and an above average arm.

Mt. Pleasant vs Sagniaw Heritage - 5/23/16

Spencer Schwellenbach, SS/RHP, Saginaw Heritage HS, 2018
Scouting Report: Schwellenbach, the premier two-way player in the 2018 class, has an athletic build at 6-foot, 165-pounds. Defensively, he shows premier arm strength across the diamond with good actions and above-average range. At the plate, he showed a good approach and good bat speed as he drove a double to the right-center gap on an outside fastball. He came in relief and was sitting 88-90 mph with his fastball that had some arm side run. He showed a changeup that had good sink at 77-78 mph and was thrown with fastball arm speed.

Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs Divine Child - 5/21/16

Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 170 pound strong compact framed RHP packs a powerful arm. Drake racked up six strikeouts and allowed 2 hits in 6 innings of work. His fastball sat 84-87 mph touching 89 mph multiple times. A sharp 11/5 late breaking curve was 72-76 mph and 74-77 mph straight changeup. 

Brother Rice vs De la Salle - 5/21/16

Scouting Report: 6-foot, 170 pound, athletic prospect shows good baseball instincts in the field while making every play. At the plate he was an RBI machine driving in 3 of the 8 runs Rice scored on the day. 

Gull Lake vs Stevensville-Lakeshore - 5/21/16

Scouting Report: Blakely has an athletic build at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds with broad shoulders and he shows his athleticism behind the plate. He showed excellent lateral quickness when blocking and with his footwork while throwing to bases. While he does have a slightly longer arm action than some catchers, he has plus arm strength and consistently has sub-2.0 pop times. He shows good receiving skills, helping him to be one of the top defensive catchers in the Midwest and is a workhorse as he caught all eight games last week. At the plate, he showed good bat speed with smooth rhythm and a short swing. Blakely also showed good balance at the plate with good plate discipline.

Howell vs Northville - 5/19/16

Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 175 pound long athletic built prospect showed a smooth stroke at the plate. While keeping his hands waist high he’s able to generate good bat speed and power using his leverage. On the mound he worked with a nice and easy motion delivering an effortless fastball that sat 86-88 mph. On several occasions he touched 90 mph. His outpitch was a sharp late breaking 73-74 mph curve and kept hitters off balanced with a 79-81 mph fading changeup.

Allendale vs Sparta - 5/17/16

Scouting Report: Davis has a projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 194-pounds. He threw from a high-3/4 arm angle which was different from the over-the-top arm slot he had thrown from in the past. His fastball sat 86-88 mph while topping out at 89 mph, and he was able to sit 85-87 mph with his fastball through the fifth inning. His fastball showed good downhill action and had occasional cutting movement that was tough on both right-handed and left-handed hitters. His curveball had 12/6 action to it and was sharp with good depth at 69-72 mph. He showed the ability to pound the strike zone as he did not allow a walk in this outing.

Country Day Round Robin (Country Day, Southfield Lathrup and Bloomfield Hills) - 5/14/16

Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 150 RHP uses a smooth motion, paired with a long loose arm action. Godfrey was able to control one of the state’s most dangerous offensive line ups. Used a three- pitch mix, his fastball sat 83-87 mph while touching 90 mph twice on the day. Showed a gradually breaking curve that kept hitters off balanced 71-73 mph. Also a 69-72 mph sinking changeup.

#1 Saginaw Heritage vs #4 Bay City Western - 5/12/16

Scouting Report: Schwellenbach has an athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame. He has good rhythm in the batter’s box with a middle approach and plus bat speed. On the infield, he shows an excellent first step and plus range. He has smooth actions with good hands and a strong arm as he shows the ability to make a strong, accurate throw from the 6-hole.

Brother Rice vs Orchard Lake St. Mary's - 5/12/16

Scouting Report:
6-foot, 185-pound 1B/RHP has a tall athletic frame. Flores is one of the state's top 2019 hitters. He stands in a tall stance with more weight distributed to his back leg. Keeps his hands inside the baseball well and shows good power. Crushed a double off the left field fence his first at bat.

Allen Park vs Gibraltar Carlson - 5/9/16

Scouting Report:
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound RHP has a calm and easy motion while lifting his leg waist high prior to throwing from a high-3/4 arm slot. Front side opens slightly early, shows good arm speed and whip. Fastball was 88-90 mph through the first three innings with late run. Consistently his outpitch was a sharp breaking 75-77 mph curve moving at a 10/4 angle. Flashed a straight 78-81 mph changeup. Kohn maintained velocity throughout the game while still touching 88 mph in the 7th inning. He struck on six batters in a complete game effort.

Utica Eisenhower vs Grosse Pointe South - 5/7/16

Scouting Report:
6-foot-1, athletic prospect showed great baseball instincts. Led the game off with a double to center field that hit off the fence. Displayed good range in the field and soft hands. Called in to close the game on the mound. He sat 84-86 mph while touching 87 mph on the final pitch. Also flashed a 71 mph 11/5 curveball. 

Holland Christian vs Hudsonville Unity Christian - 5/3/16

Scouting Report: Mokma has a projectable and athletic frame at 6-foot-7, 220-pounds. He repeated his delivery well and showed the ability to quickly move off the mound. His fastball sat 86-88 mph and touching 90 mph multiple times with good downhill action and some arm side run. He showed an above-average curveball that was used early in counts that sat 71-73 mph with 11/5 break and good depth while also showing a plus slider that was used later in counts as a strikeout pitch that had tight 10/4 break and sat 76-78 mph. His changeup was thrown with good arm speed and sat 78-79 mph with good, late fade.

Southfield vs Southfield Lathrup - 5/2/16

Scouting Report: The 6-foot, 155 pound LHP has a long athletic frame with loose arm action on the mound. He throws from a high-3/4 arm angle. Fastball sat 82-84 mph while touching 85 repeatedly. Displayed an early breaking 1/7 curve 72-74 mph.

Hartland vs Brighton - 4/26/16

Scouting Report: The 6-foot2, 215-pound RHP was very impressive throwing 10 innings in relief with 15 strike outs. His fastball sat 86-88 mph while touching 90 mph a couple times. His outpitch was a late moving cutter that kept hitters guessing 75-77 mph. Also showed a 78-81 mph fading changeup. At the plate he displayed quick hands, while barreling the ball consistently.

#6 Rockford vs. Holland West Ottawa - 4/26/16

Scouting Report: Weisenburger, a Michigan commit, has an athletic 6-foot-3, 210-pound build. He showed a repeatable delivery with quick arm speed and a strong lower half. His fastball sat 85-87 mph with some sink through the first three innings. His slider showed tight break at 71-73 mph and varied between 11/5 break and 10/4 break. His changeup was seldom used but sat at 77 mph with late sink while being thrown with good arm speed.

Southgate Anderson vs Allen Park - 4/20/16

Scouting Report: One of the state's most impressive sophomores. Threw 5 innings sitting 82-85 mph while touching 87 mph multiple times. His 12/16 72-73 mph curveball has good depth and sharp break. Erickson works with a nice and easy tempo throwing with a quick arm from a high-3/4 arm angle. He also flashed a 76 mph straight changeup.

Southfield Lathrup vs Hazel Park - 4/18/16

Scouting Report: Smith hits from a tall slightly open stance using a minimal load. Barreled several pitches on the day most notably his double he smashed off the centerfield fence. On the mound uses a easy tempo and loose arm while pounding the zone. He attacks the hitters without wasting pitches. Fastball sat 82-85 mph with good late run and sharp breaking 2/8 curve ball 72-74 mph. Smith Jr threw a complete game no-hitter with 11 strike outs.

Traverse City West vs Traverse City Central - 4/19/16

Scouting Report: Kenny, a Saginaw Valley State commit, has an athletic, 6-foot-1, 180-pound build. He has a quick arm and showed good command to both sides of the plate with his fastball that sat 86-88 mph with sink when located inside to right-handed hitters and away to left-handed hitters. His curveball had 12/6 break to it and was sharp with good depth at 73-74 mph. He was also able to throw his curveball in any count and used it as a strikeout pitch.

Sterling Heights Stevenson vs L'Anse Creuse North - 4/18/16

Scouting Report: The righty sat 85-88 mph while touching 89 mph twice. Displaying a deceptive fading 77-79 mph changeup and the signature Luke McGuire slider outpitch  with great late break sitting 71-74 mph. Luke threw a complete game, with zero earned runs, and 5 strikeouts.

Bishop Foley vs. Detroit Country Day - 4/5/16

Scouting Report: Hits in the lead off spot for Country Day and hit a tape measure shot 400 plus feet over the center field wall. In his third at bat smashed a double to the right center power alley. 2-3, double, homerun, BB, 2 RBI and 2 Runs scored.
