Rising Stock: 2014 RHP Brent Mattson (Canton HS)

Brent Mattson has made some significan improvements over the past few months.  Recognizing that he was throwing across his body and losing power in the process, Mattson dedicated himself to cleaning up his mechanics.  The result and increase in velocity and strikes. 

The 6-foot-5 Mattson, certainly may have some growing left to do.  In the spring of 2012, Mattson was 78-81mph on the mound.  During the summer he climbed to 84 mph.  This fall Mattson, has bumped 86 mph a few times.  His breaking ball shows some promise as it has a sweeping action to it and when down in the zone displays some bite.
