Ben North - Creighton

PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

North: Because it was the best fit athletically and academically to get me to where I want to be in life. I loved the campus and the city and obviously the field is a bonus.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

North: St. Thomas, NDSU, Columbia, Wichita State

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

North: They never were able to see me in person but contacted me during a PBR tournament in Iowa.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

North: It is a huge relief to be done with the recruiting process especially with Covid-19 playing a large role in many athletes’ processes.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

North: I think the history of the school academically and also the track record for turning infielders into pros was a leading factor into my decision.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

North: I would say my parents and family number one and then my club coach Brian Bambenek and my high school coach Brain Sprout.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

North: Outside of the pandemic which changed many things about recruiting, I expected to be noticed in high school games and club games my junior year mostly. I found it to be pretty challenging.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

North: They haven’t given me any guarantees but they expect me to compete for a spot potentially.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

North: Winning the 2019 state championship

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

North: Will Rogers/Sam Malec
