Fall Tournament Standouts Part III

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Another weekend, another slate of action around the country. The Hotlist looks at more standouts from the latest PBR Tournaments.

Brett Antolick, RHP, Hazleton Area HS, PA (2023)
Antolick was on his game Sunday for Baseball U Anthracite. Pitching from a quick sidestep delivery, he threw with a longer arm action from a high-3/4 slot and showed solid command of two pitches. The fastball exploded out of his hand to both sides of the plate with some arm-side run at 86-87 mph. He also showed nice feel for a bigger 11/5 breaking ball with sharp bite at 71-72. He is strong, athletic and projectable at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds with light effort.

Ryan Bakes, C, Huntley HS, IL (2023)
Bakes—along with Andrew Ressler, who is mentioned below—looks to be among the top prospects in Illinois’ 2023 class. Barrel-chested at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, he was a Team Select member at the PBR Midwest Future Games. He has advanced actions and strength behind the plate, and he gets to some easy power in the right-handed box. He homered three times last weekend, two of which were absolute no-doubters off the barrel. It’s a simple, explosive swing that puts him on the national radar.
