----jimmy larson - jimmylarson2.jpgName: Jimmy Larson
Position: RHP
Class: 2016
Height/Weight: 6-foot-6, 190-pounds
High School: Prior Lake
PBR Rank: #13 in MN 2016 Class

Evaluation: 6-foot-6, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Larson oozes potential on mound. Extremely long loose arm and at times is lightning quick. Has body control and can play catch to the glove with his fastball as well as anyone in the state. Very athletic- starting high school quarterback- Larson is just beginning to scratch the surface of his ability on mound. Fastball was thrown at 84-86 mph and it’s easy to dream on it being upper 80’s- low 90’s once he continues to mature physically. Curveball showed plus tilt; struggled at times with release point. Changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed.

PBR: Why did you choose Kansas State University?
LARSON: I chose Kansas State because I loved everything about it; from the facilities, to the academic advisers, to the coaches.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
LARSON: Minnesota State- Mankato, University of Minnesota, North Dakota State and Bradley University.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
LARSON: They saw me at the PBR MN Top Prospect event.  They then started communicating with me to find out when I would be pitching in a game so that they could come see me play.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
LARSON: I do feel relieved that I have made my decision. Now I can focus on football in the fall and basketball this winter; and go into the next season with no stress about a college decision.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
LARSON: I'd have to say the facilities and how the campus is all in one area.  When I visited it felt right and I went with that gut feeling.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
LARSON: My family has been my biggest supporter.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
LARSON: My expectations going into it were that it was going to be hard, but after some showcases I started getting emails from schools and everything got easier.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
LARSON: I don't know yet, but I can't wait to find out.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
LARSON: My most memorable moment would have to be playing in the American Legion State Tournament.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
LARSON: It would probably be Sam Carlson from Burnsville or Jimmy Ramsey from Minnetonka.
