Scouting Report

7/10/18 - 6-foot-6, 225-pound, extra-large, well-proportioned, imposing, right-handed pitcher. Compact delivery, repeats well for his size, works on-line, lands front toe closed with minimal effort at times. Slight plunging action on the backside, loose out front, out a high ¾ window. Fastball, occasional arm-side action, around the zone, sat 86-87 mph. Curveball 11/5 to 12/6 shape, depth at times, sat 68-69 mph. Saw a couple changeups in warmups, late fade action. One of the top uncommitted 2019 arms in Minnesota.

3/18/18- 6-foot-5, 235-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #25 ranked player in MN 2019 class. Fastball touched 90 mph and worked 86-88. Comes out very easy and has a chance to make an even bigger jump heading into the summer. Ball jumps out of hand and he repeated delivery with ease. Changeup worked at 80 mph with above avg. feel for zone. Curveball had avg. depth with 11/5 shape at 70-71 mph. 7.83 runner. Tall stance, balanced stride, lift in swing plane with length to contact, shows pop in bat, gap to gap approach, 93 mph exit velocity. Good feet to field, works out front, sure hands, solid receiver around bag, above avg. arm for position, 84 mph arm across infield.

 

10/22/17- 6-foot-5, 240-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Large durable frame. #25 ranked prospect in MN 2019 class.  On mound; picks up tempo through delivery, hitchy rhythm, compact arm action, has extension and finish to plate. Fastball was consistently 85-86 mph, straight, delivered on slight downhill plane to hitter. Shows ability to land 11/5 breaking ball for strikes; has occasional flat break to plate. Shows feel and command of changeup with flashes of above avg. fade and sink. 7.88 runner. Tall stance, easy load and stride, clean bat path, consistent hard contact, uses both gaps well, line drive and fly ball contact, 96 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, confident fielder, moves well around bag, above avg. at position, 85 mph arm across infield.

7/5/17- 6-foot-4, 255-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Large durable build. Controlled tempo into repeatable balance point, slight wrap on backside of arm action, comes out clean in front, lands in-line with catcher, and has extension and finish to plate. Fastball was 81-83 mph, sneaks on hitter, with heavy feel. Shows ability to land slurvy 12/4 breaking ball for strikes. Slight cutting action on changeup; thrown at 75-76 mph. 8.16 runner. Square stance, body load, double tap trigger and stride, short to contact, average barrel skills, flashes occasional pop in bat, gap to gap approach, 88 mph exit velocity. Shows good hands at first, solid range and moves well at position, appropriate footwork and actions around bag, 80 mph arm strength across field.
