PBR Rank: #18 in MN 2017 Class

Evaluation:  6/20/16- 6-foot-3, 180-pound left-handed pitcher. Lean athletic frame on mound that projects to add strength and size. Has solid body control with uptempo rhythm. Shorter arm circle on backside and is clean out front on release. Fastball was 82-84 mph with above avg. cutting action for strikes. Breaking ball shows promise with sweeping 2-plane break at 70-75 mph. Shows good feel for zone; consistently throwing changeup to arm-side of plate with fade.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
KAPALA: Minnesota, NDSU, Santa Clara, St. Cloud, Xavier, Mankato, Cal Poly, Maryville, Central Michigan and VCU.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
KAPALA: I have visited St. Cloud, NDSU and Minnesota. I plan on visiting Santa Clara in the upcoming fall.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
KAPALA: I'm considering something that will prepare me for the medical field, but most of all I'm looking for a school that challenges me academically, suits my athletic ability, and is a good social fit.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
KAPALA: I loved starting the year in Florida for spring training with my teammates. It was also an honor to be selected as all-conference and all-section and be able to pitch in our section championship.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
KAPALA: This upcoming year I plan on working really hard in the offseason and putting everything I have out on the field and hopefully end up playing my last game with my teammates out on Target Field in the state championship.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
KAPALA: I grew up playing both hockey and baseball. But baseball has always been my passion.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
KAPALA: I have a 3.86 GPA and I have a 26 on my ACT and plan on taking it again in September.
