Prep Baseball Report Minnesota

At Prep Baseball Report we look to provide a platform that will allow student athletes the best chance to gain exposure and ultimately, recruitment into the college ranks. Zach exemplifies what it means to be a student athlete, someone who has excelled not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. This commitment to excellence in multiple areas has bred mental toughness to go along with physical ability. When not patrolling the outfield for Lakeville North, Zach is catching passes for the football team which currently ranks #4 in Minnesota large school rankings. At 6'4, 205lbs Zach will continue to grow into his body, making the sky the limit for the 6.77 60 yard dash runner. We wish the best to Zach in his recruitment, the remainder of the football season, and on the diamond in the spring!

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
I have had brief contact with numerous schools at different levels during the process.  I have a few Division 1 schools that are still showing interest and I have been in contact with several of the Junior College programs in Iowa.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
My summer baseball team traveled quite a bit and this allowed me to informally visit quite a few schools.  I have had a few formal visits and I am excited to be going on a few scheduled visits in the coming weeks.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
There are so many factors to consider, but overall I am looking for the best fit.  Academics are important but I am focused on finding a baseball program where I can compete at a high level and continue to improve as a player.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year, personally and as a team?
The section tournament and making it to state was fun to be a part of. During the summer my club team had some good success against great competition.  Facing high level pitchers and teams from around the country helped me improve my skills tremendously.

PBR: What goals do you have this year for your team and yourself?
My goal for our team is to win the state championship. Personally, my goal is to be a leader and make a significant contribution at the plate and in the field.

PBR: Are you playing with anyone this fall/winter? If so, where?
Yes, I am playing with the Minnesota Mash this fall. I will also be working out and training at their facility in Eagan all winter.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Yes, I’m a tight end on our football team.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
ACT: 25
GPA: 3.76
