9/08/19

'20 Great Lakes 1B/OF Matt Moore had a nice day at the plate for Great Lakes.  Long and lanky frame with room to fill out.  Flat swing plane with some bat speed.  Gap to gap approach and showed pop in the barrel.

6/17/19

6-foot-4, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #49 ranked player in MN 2020 class. 7.18 runner. Tall stance, body load, solid bat speed, line drive swing plane, long levers and has line drive pop in bat, 91 mph exit velocity. Works through baseball, avg. hands and feet, long arm action, online throws, tends to stop losing momentum, 83 mph arm strength from outfield. On mound; simple delivery into higher balance point, compact arm action, lands upright to plate, delivers from ¾ slot. Heavy fastball was 81-84 mph with above avg. late running action for strikes. Tumbling break on curveball with 11/5 shape.

3/17/19

6-foot-5, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.01 runner.  Long levers and frame.  Squared balanced start. Knee to knee and hand load back.  Uses the whole field with mainly line drive contact.  Consistent barrel contact that flashed pop. 93 mph exit velocity.  OF- Moves well to ball.  Average glove.  Longer footwork to release.  89 mph arm strength with average accuracy and carry.  On mound- Big frame and room to fill out.  Good balance through delivery.  Good direction down mound.  Throws from a lower ¾ arm slot.  Fastball has slight cut with some life that sat 82-84 mph and topped at 85 mph.  Curveball was 66-68 mph with tight 11/5 break thrown for strikes.  Change-up has slight push release and thrown for strikes at 74-76 mph. 

6/17/18- 6-foot-4, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.89 runner. Tall stance, pre-set hands, body load, line drive swing, consistent hard contact, shows ability to use whole field, 91 mph exit velocity. Solid feet and hands for position, accurate arm, works well around bag, 80 mph arm across infield. Runs enough and has long lanky frame; outfield may be option as well. On mound; good balance and body control, clean arm action, short path across chest after release. Fastball was 75-79 mph with heavy arm-side run for strikes. Looping break on 11/5 curveball. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed creating deception.

Moore: UMD, University of St. Thomas, Mankato, Augustana, Winona, D2 JUCO and others

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Moore: St. Thomas, UMD, Mankato 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Moore: I'm looking for a school that has a good Education program and is medium in size.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Moore: Making it to State and finishing 3rd, successful pitching record

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Moore: My main goal is to increase my velocity, but also to be a solid hitter.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Moore: I've played basketball my whole life but will not be playing my senior year.
