Scouting Report

6/;17/18-  5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.02 runner. Square stance, deeper load with arm bar, works on slight uphill plane through contact, consistent solid contact, shows ability to use whole field, 85 mph exit velocity. Above avg. catch and throw skills with good footwork, quick hands, and arm strength on release. Has ability to receive, holds pitches in zone, athletic movements behind plate, smothers ball in front well on blocks, 79 mph arm strength with 1.93-2.02 pop times.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Moris: Augustana, Minnesota State University-Mankato, South Dakota State University, University of Nebraska-Omaha among other D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCOs

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Moris: I have visited Augustana, Creighton, Mankato, and SDSU. I plan on visiting Omaha this spring

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Moris: I would like a school in the Midwest with both an academic and athletic program that fits me.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your sophomore year?

Moris: One highlight of my sophomore year included getting the opportunity to be a key part of the team at East Ridge, and making the most of it. Others include catching 3 really well pitched games in sections, as well as being an All-Conference selection. 

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Moris: My goals for this year include making the state tournament, continuing my development, and building a strong program at East Ridge. I would also like to get bigger, faster, and stronger; reaching my goal of 190-195lbs by the beginning of the baseball season senior year. 

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Moris: I do not play any other sports, but coach youth hockey throughout the winter

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Moris:  I have a 26 ACT and 3.75 GPA.
