Season Outlook
The Greenville Bears will open their season as the #2 team in the MHSBCA ranking behind Valle Catholic. In 2015, these two teams met during sectional playoffs leaving Greenville wanting a rematch. Coach Jeff Null’s 2015 Bears finished 22-2 in the spring and an undefeated 22-0 in the fall for an impressive two-season record of 44-2. The team is led by two 2015 Second-Team All-state players: senior Trynt Tompkins (committed to Mineral Area College) and junior Trey McDaniel (Southeast Missouri State). Seniors 1B/RHP Ben Becker (walk-on at Belmont Univ.), OF Jake Doris (Lindenwood Univ-Belleville), 3B/RHP Cody Jackson and 2B/RHP Grant Miller (Three Rivers College) provide for a seasoned lineup. With a record-high five starters heading for college teams, Greenville has never been in a better position to bring home a ring.
