As  we  prepare  for  the  upcoming  2016  high  school  season,  we  will  be  taking  a
preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

Season Outlook
The Crusaders open the season at the #1 ranked team in Class 4.  They return two senior and two juniors with 2015 post season honors. Senior SS Alex Faddoul will be the leader in the middle infield and has been named All-State in each of the last two seasons.  Junior Zach Stiles will return in the outfield after being name Honorable Mention All-State last season. The two All-Staters will be joined by a pair of players earning All-District honors in senior RHP Clayton Winters and junior 2B Dylan Gaines. These four will make up the nucleus of the team and rely on the newcomers to make a deep run in the state playoffs.  Tyler Cassmeyer, Drew Boessen, and Josiah Imhoff are the key to the season.  They will be called on to pitch the bulk of the innings and although lack of varsity time is a concern, Coach Wyrick has no doubts about their desire and work ethic.  They Crusaders will have the ability to compete with any team in the state and look forward to defending their preseason rank.  The winning tradition should continue at Helias Catholic.
