Season Outlook

There is no shortage of talented players at Staley this spring, The Falcons open the spring as the number two team in Missouri's Class 5 according the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association poll. The Falcons will be deep all over the field, but especially on the mound where they return six players that saw varsity time in 2017. Junior RHP Carter Rustad, who moved in from Hawaii last fall, has a verbal commitment to the Univ. of San Diego and has topped at 90 mph with fastball to along with good off-speed pitches. Senior RHP and Richmond recruit, Mason Majors, and junior RHP Jake Wilson will have a bigger impact in 2018 on an already experienced staff. Also factor in Missouri commit, Braedyn McLaughlin and the Falcons will have one of the top pitching staffs in the state. Staley will also return six position players, including All-State selections Johnny Raybourn (Central Missouri), Rod Criss (Crowder) and Braedyn McLaughlin (Missouri) at first base. Senior Jackson Dierenfeldt (Drury), senior OF Aaron Keast and junior INF Jake Wilson will also have impact both defensively and offensively for the Falcons this spring. Staley has the opportunity to score runs in a variety of ways and will be feel both offensively and defensively to go along with a top notch pitching staff.
