Season Outlook
The Vianney Griffins finished third in Missouri's Class 5 last season with a record of 32-7.  The Griffins finished the season with a 1.35 ERA and will return all but eleven innings of the total 2016 innings in 2018. They will open as the number one ranked team in Missouri's High School Coache's Poll.  Senior Luke Mann (Missouri) will lead the on the mound.  Mann, a four-year starter, has been named 1st Team All-Conference in each of the previous three seasons and was named 1st Team-All State last season.  He pitched 153 inning over the past three seasons and has a ERA of just 0.82 over that span.  Mann will also stand out at the plate this spring after hitting. .348 last season with ten doubles, seven home runs and 32 RBI.  Also watch for a pair of Southeast Missouri commits to build on successful junior seasons.  Senior catcher Andrew Keck was took home 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State honors.  He batted. .452 with thirteen doubles, two triples and 29 RBI. Senior LHP Noah Niznik finished with a 8-1 record last season and earned 1st Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors.  Vianney has several committed players in their senior class.  Watch for Anthony Altobella (Rockhurst) Aaron Klar (Millikin) and Michael DiPiazza (Rockhurst) to build on their successful junior seasons.  And, keep an eye on Missouri recruit, freshman Brock Daniels, who will compete for the spot at third base this spring.  The Griffins have the depth and talent to be the top contender in Missouri's Class 5.
