Aprl 21 Daily Game Roundup



No. 1 Liberty won the Northland Tournament, defeating Staley 4-3.  Nathan Winfrey went a perfect four for four on the day.

No. 3 SLUH 13    McCluer 3

Notre Dame Tournament:

No. 5 Notre Dame won their two games in the Notre Dame Tournament on Saturday, shutting out No. 19 MICDS and Oran.

Notre Dame 5    MICDS 0: Griffen Seibert went two for two with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Ross June threw a complete game four hitter striking out nine and not allowing a walk.

Notre Dame 5   Oran 0: Ace Cody Heisserer threw five shutout innings and Justin Landewee had two hits leading Notre Dame to the 5-0 win over Oran

Also in the Notre Dame Tournament:
Helias 11   Oran 10 (9 innings): Helias overcame an 8-2 deficit to come back and defeat Oran 11-10.

 

Strafford Wood Bat Tournament

No. 6 Clever 3   Strafford 2: Clever took the championship of the Strafford Wood Bat Tournament, defeating Strafford 3-2.  Once again, Chance Wolfe led Clever with a compete game four hitter, striking out seven batters. Wolfe also went two for three at the plate with a double and triple. Tyler Martin had two hits for Clever.

 

No. 14 Kennett won two games Saturday to bring home the championship of the Aaron Schuh Tournament at Ripley HS in Tennessee.

In the first game against Murford (TN), Kennett came out on top 8-4.  Collin Smith went four innings scattering three hits and giving up three runs. Smith helped himself with an RBI. Adam Grantham, Justin Smith, and Logan Dollins each had two hits for Kennett

In the championship game, Kennett defeated Tipton-Rosemark Academy (TN) 4 to 2.  Adam Grantham picked up the win on the mound, giving up one hit and fanning eight batters over six innings. Logan Dollins, Justin Smith, Collin Smith, and JD Willis provided the offense, with each picking up an RBI.

 

Lindbergh 14    Oakville 3: Lindberg slugged their way to another win with five home runs, defeating Oakville Saturday afternoon. Leading the way was Jesse Mannes, who had a four for five day with two homeruns, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Jack Manley went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs, and three runs scored; while Jordan Harmon also homered and drove in three.  Kendall Helbert also smashed a solo homerun.


Boonville Tournament
Hickman won the Boonville Tournament, losing one game and winning in the championship game against host Boonville.

In the first game, Centralia tripped up Hickman, 1-0. Nate Van Boening threw a complete game shut out with eight strikeouts. Van Boening pitched his way of out bases loaded jams in the first, fifth, and seventh inning to preserve the shut out win. Alec went three for three, and was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle for Centralia.

In the championship game, Hickman defeated Boonville 3-2. Jonathan Jones struck out ten in the two hit effort. Jake Alexander had an RBI double for the Krewpie offense.
