Daily Game Round Up-March 19



The weather finally cooperated for the most part yesterday, while still cold and damp, Missouri had a good slate of games played, with a few upsets in the Top 25 on Tuesday. 

No. 6 Raymore-Peculiar 9    Smithville 5
Storm Rynard drove in two and scored two to pace the Ray-Pec offense. Cort Lesmeister went 2-for-4 with two runs scored 

No. 9 Clayton 7  Priory 2 

No. 13 Springfield Catholic is upset by Marshfield, 2 to 1. 

No. 14 Liberty 7  Grain Valley 6
Ross Juliana goes six strong fanning 12 batters and allowing only two hits 

No. 16 Pacific 7  New Haven 1
Hank Vandaveer does it all for Pacific in the win. 2-for-4 with three RBIs and four innings pitched, striking out eight and allowing one earned run for the win. 

No. 19 Clever is upset by Conway, 7 to 6 in nine innings.
Ron Wellman led Conway with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, including the winning run inthe top of the ninth frame. Clever's Chance Wolfe struck out 11 batters in a losing effort.

No. 23 Logan-Rogersville was upended by Carl Junction 11 to 5.
Nate Landis collected two hits and four RBIs while Kurtlin Hulette drove home a pair of runs on two hits to lead the Carl Junction offense. 

 

In other action around the state:
Monett 6        McDonald County 0
LHP Aaron Patton throws a no-hitter picks up his second win of the season striking out 14. This comes after a one hit effort in his last start with 12 strikeouts. Patton now has 26 strikeouts in two games.

Jefferson City 10       Waynesville 6
Sam Atkinson led the Jefferson City offense with a 2-for-4 day and three RBIs. Jefferson City improves to 3-0 on the season 

Francis Howell Central 3      Parkway West 0
Troy Newell picks up the win throwing five inning of shutout ball. Ryan Howard goes 2-for-2 at the plate with a triple. 

Forsyth 9        Strafford 0
Jay Kaufman throws a one hit shutout, striking out eight. Layn Hurst led the offense with four RBIs in the Clever ROTB Tournament.

Branson 9 Lebanon 8
Branson picks up their third win of the young season, and Ricky Ward produced another big game with two homeruns and three RBIs. Garrison Gatis smacked a three RBI double in the fifth inning to give Branson the lead after a back and forth battle. 

Lee’s Summit 10       Grain Valley 6
Drew Blair hit a go ahead two RBI double in the seventh inning to seal the win for Lee’s Summit. Jake Fromson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the offense. 

Lee’s Summit North 4           Park Hill 3
Lee’s Summit North scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk off win. Dylan Carrender had a two RBI double and Andrew Warner and Miles Kilgore also had RBIs in the last frame for North. Dalton Moats struck out 10 in six innings in a losing effort. 

Ft. Osage 3     Truman 0      
Alex Merrithew struck out 11 and allowed three hits in the first game of the season for Ft.Osage. Derek Pike had a 2-for-3 afternoon with a home run and two runs scored. 

Glendale 6      West Plains 0
Evan Payne led Glendale at the plate and on the mound, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs as well as a complete game striking out eight. 

Smith-Cotton 6    Camdenton 1
Dalton Christian picked up the win on the mound throwing three innings of one hit ball while striking out five. He helped himself at the plate with an RBI doubl in the first inning to get Smith-Cotton on the board. Steven Bradley and Dakota Brown also drove in runs for Smith-Cotton 

Joplin 2           Willard 1 
Brett Graham had a two RBI double and Gavin Jones had an RBI squeeze bunt single to produce the two runs for Joplin, while Blake Brown picked up the win.

Fredericktown 5        Crystal City 4 
Fredericktown scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, capped by Christian Parsley walk of single to win the game.
