Daily Roundup: April 8 Games

No. 1 Westminster 19  Parkway West 5
Shane Benes
and Caleb Hicks each drove in five runs to account for the majority of the Westminster offense, which scored 10 runs in the top of the seventh inning. Benes blasted two homeruns, while Hicks doubled twice. Bryce Bell went 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored. Davis Vanderslice scattered eight hits over six innings of work, allowing one earned run 

No. 5 Notre Dame 3 No. 22 Poplar Bluff 0
Chase Simmons went 2-for-3 with a homerun to lead the Notre Dame offense. Chase Uhrhan and Justin Landewee combined for a complete game shutout, scattering three hits and striking out nine batters. 

No. 6 Jefferson City 9  Crystal City 1 

No. 7 Rockwood Summit 7  No. 13 Seckman 1
Ryan Fritz
allowed one earned run, while striking out five and Summit took advantage of three Seckman errors to take home the win.  Fritz also had two hits ans two RBIs and Matt Kaysinger smashed a solo homerun. 

No. 10 Ladue 9  University City 1
Michael Wielansky
went four strong innings to pick up the win, striking out five and allowing only one hit. Rob Ewald had a two RBI double, and Jason Blanke, Lex Kaplan, Jack Zimmerman, and Dylan Barstow each drove in a run. 

No. 11 Liberty 6  Lee’s Summit North 8
Lee’s Summit North knocked off Liberty 8-6 on Monday afternoon. Lee’s Summit North jumped to an early 8-0 lead, scoring four times in the first, three in the second and once in the third. Josh DeBacker and Goeton Gronberg each had a hit and two RBIs, and Rohman Viar went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. 

No. 15 Rock Bridge 13  Boonville 15

No. 20 Pacific 2 Washington 9
Pete Coulter
went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Dilan Bollman drove home three runs in Washington’s upset of Pacific.

Devin Pettie
threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 batters to lead Holt. 

Sikeston 4  Dexter 1
Colton Black’
s home run powered Sikeston to a 4-1 win over Dexter. Josh Hampton and Cord Sheehy each contributed with an RBI. Trey Tigart allowed six hits in the complete game win.

John Burroughs 3  Lutheran North 1
Dwight Sutter
struck out seven, allowing no earned runs to pick up the win for Burroughs. Nate Van Slyke’s RBI single in the sixth broke a 1-1 tie. 

Forsyth 8  Reeds Spring 2
Derek Hurst
and Jay Kaufman collected two RBIs each on two hits to lead the Forstyh offense. Logan Horner gets the win, surrendering three hits and two runs over seven innings. 

Conway 5  Richland 1
Tyler Simpson
picked up his first varsity win by throwing a ho hitter and striking out 14 batters. 

Russellville 3 Linn 1
Chandler Wolf
threw a complete game, giving up five hits and striking out seven. Clayton Harrison’s two RBI double in top of seventh inning with two outs gave Russellville the lead. 

Carl Junction 12 Webb City 7
Freshman Ryan Devore picked up his fourth win of the season.

Ethan Howser
threw a no hitter, striking out 13. 

Springfield Catholic 10  Monett 8
Tyler Ast
had three hits while Danny Richardson and Eric Smith each had two to lead Catholic in a slugfest. Collin Shaughnessy picked up the win on the mound. 

Cabool 11  Ava 1
Austin Baker
homered and drove in three and Markus Rader also drove in three to lead the Cabool offense. Rader also picked up the win on the mound, scattering five hits and allowing one earned run. 

Marquette 11  Webster Groves 1
Mitch Carr
, Keith Grieshaber, and Matt Hink each drove in two runs to lead the Marquette offense. Chris Lenzen scattered four hits over four innings to pick up the win.
