Missouri Class of 2022 Rankings

Kevin Moulder
Missouri Scouting Director

A look at our 2022 class rankings as they enter their all important junior season. Over 75 new players entered the 250 player ranking, while also seeing a number of players shoot up the rankings including a new number one ranked player. As one would expect an offseason of added strength and size has added a number of interesting uncommitted players to the top of the rankings especially some projectible pitching prospects. In all the class currently has 19 committed players which, a number that should sky rocket as we get into the front part of the summer. Below we highlighted some of our top movers and new players along with a complete list of the 2022 Missouri rankings.

The New 1

Zack Stewart 3B / Lebanon , MO / 2022

An athletic physical presence at 6'2 225 lbs Stewart is what you draw up when looking for a middle of the lineup type bat. The lefty has plus bat speed and natural lift in his swing and plus power. Defensively shows soft hands and the ability to make throws both on the run and from multiple arm angles.

The Risers

Jack DuMont LHP / 1B St. Louis University , MO / 2022

Drew Politte 3B / RHP Lindbergh , MO / 2022

A 2-way standout with upside has taken another jump over the winter. On the mound the  he has a short clean arm action with a fastball at 86-89 that jumps on hitters and a tight breaking ball and a changeup that shows some fade. Positionally is a prototypical third baseman type; strong bodied with a strong throwing arm and thump in that bat (93 exit vlo)

Carter DeGondea LHP / Raymore Peculiar, MO / 2022

An athletic LHP with a clean short repeatable arm action. Has had another upward tick in velocity over the winter, sitting 84-86 with life and arm side run at the MOKAN Preseason All-State invite. With a four pitch mix DeGondea also features a tight slider (68-72), curveball (65-77) and change up (75-76) making him one of the top available arms in the state.

Jacob Brown RHP / Westminster, MO / 2022

Brown was pitching in the upper 80's at the A's scout day while also demonstrating one of the top breaking balls in the class. With a good feel for his three pitch mix, while using his sharp breaking ball (2600+ rpm) as a put away pitch
