Class 5

#5 CBC 8, Chaminade 1
The Cadets’ arms silenced the Red Devils’ bats. Matt Palmer, Glennon McCreery, George Kelly, and Jacob Haussmann combined for CBC to allow only four hits over seven innings. Matt Donahoe picked up two of the four hits for Chaminade. John Bischoff scored the only Red Devils only run. Stephen Haring and Matt Vierling both had multi-hit games and scored two runs for CBC.

Vianney 9, DeSmet 4
Vianney’s consistent attack was too much for De Smet. Nick Allgeyer picked up the win for the Golden Griffins tossing 4 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs. Neil Fischer went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Mat Jones went 2-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI. Ryan Knernschield and Brendan Madden also had multi-hit games for Vianney.

Joplin 4, Rolla 1
Joplin’s rally came up short in the seventh inning against Rolla. Mason Pickrell tossed a gem for Rolla going the distance and allowing only one run. Chris Leonardi, Johnny Maturino, Gavin Jones, and Mark Duley all recorded hits for the Eagles. Collin Nash went 2-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored for Rolla. Dalton Turner and Jake Turner both had two hits Rolla.

#4 Sikeston 8, #2 Cape Notre Dame 1
Sikeston rallied for six runs with two outs in the top of the second inning to upend Cape Norte Dame 8-1.  Doug Still went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Gavin O'Brien and Colton Black each pick up a pair of hits in the win for Sikeston.  O'Brien tossed a complete game allowing one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.  Luke Haines and Josh Jansen's double were two of only four hits for Nortre Dame. Ross James allowed one earned run over four innings with seven strikeouts in the loss.
