Games for Wednesday, April 30

Class 5

Fort Zumwalt West 5, #7 Timberland 4
Ft. Zumwalt West scored four runs in the last two innings to walk off with the win. Brandon Gabler went six innings for the Jaguars allowing three earned runs on nine hits. Tyler Howe picked up the win tossing a scoreless seventh inning. Danny Wright went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for Ft. Zumwalt West. Kyle Stevens had a big day for the Wolves. He threw 5 2/3 innings scattering six hits and striking out four. Stevens also went 2-for-3 including a solo homerun and scored twice. Jordan West added a pair of singles for Timberland.

#9 Nixa 4, Webb City 0
Pitchers’ dual ends with Nixa on top. Dustin Sipes earns the win pitching a complete game shutout. He handled Webb City’s lineup by scattering four hits and racking up ten strikeouts.  Sipes’ counterpart Calem Nutting tossed five innings for the Cardinals. He did not give up an earned run while striking out four. Nixa’s Scott Minehardt and Tristan Ridenour each went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Andrew Greek went 2-for-3 for Webb City.

Francis Howell 13, Troy Buchanan 0
Francis Howell blanks Troy in a five-inning affair. Braydon Cook was masterful allowing only one hit over five innings. The Vikings' bats were also on fire. Eli Dilday went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Eric Huenke was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Tanner Kulpa, Ryan Perkins, Brendan Trimble, and Nic Perkins all had multi-hit games for Francis Howell. Kurtis Meyers provided the only hit for the Trojans.

Branson 5, #8 Kickapoo 4
Kaleb Schmidt went six inning allowing two earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts and three walks for Kickapoo in the 5-4 loss. Alex Kellogg went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Chiefs.  Joe Lemley earned the win for Branson working five innings surrendering three runs on five hits with a strikeout and two walks.  Lachlan Maher got the save giving up one run on one hit in two innings pitched. 

Holt 8, Fort Zumwalt East 3
Holt got three hits out of Austin Bennett and Devin Pettit in the 8-3 win over Fort Zumwalt East.  Steven Clark added two RBI and a double in win. Nate Berendzen fanned six over four innings allowing two runs on five hits for Holt.  Evan Daly earned the win pitching the last three innings, recording four K's.  Ben Sugar doubled and scored for Fort Zumwalt East.

#3 Logan Rogersville 2, Mountain Grove 1
Bailey Jenkins went 2-for-3 with a run offensively, and tossed 4.1 innings on the mound allowing one run and scattering four hits in the Logan-Rogersville win over Mountain Grove.  Garrett Newberry surrendered just two runs on seven hits and recorded four strikeouts in the loss.
