Scouting Report:
Passino is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop from Rockwood Summit in St. Louis. Passino runs an 7.12 60 and has an 88 mph exit velo. Passino has a tall stance with small stride, minimal load, level path to extension, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, athletic actions, quick feet, momentum towards 1B, high-three quarters release, soft hands, accurate throws. 80 mph positional velo. During the high school season, Passino hit at a .337 clip, stroking six doubles and driving in 16 runs. Passino has also seen time on the mound. He has a clean/repeatable delivery, with smooth rhythm, and oose arm action. His fastball works at 80-81 mph, with slight run. He has a 12-to-6 curveball, that he throws for a strike at 65-69 mph. Passino's change-up is 70-72 mph with arm side sink at near fastball arm speed.arm side sink. He has an athletic/projectable build.
