PBR MO Uncommitted Spotlight: Ben Kerby

By: Diego Solares
Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri

With the fall season coming to a close, our staff will take some time to highlight several uncommitted prospects over the next few weeks with the off-season fully underway. These players have all impressed our staff recently, whether it be at events, tournaments, or other up-close looks via our boots-on-the-ground coverage.

Today we'll shine some light on OF Ben Kerby (Truman, 2023), who recently made his PBR debut at the MOKAN Open this October. There, Kerby showed a quality skill-set and earned himself a spot on our 2023 rankings in this most recent update. We highlighted him inside our initial rankings release, having this to say:

"Kerby popped up at the MOKAN Open and put up impressive metrics across the board. The left-handed hitting outfielder showed hand twitch at the plate (23.8 mph avg) and bat speed (73.6 mph avg) from a flat path, turning on some baseballs to the pull-side with authority. His hardest batted ball left his barrel at 93 mph and traveled 339 feet, per TrackMan. Kerby displayed arm strength from the outfield as well, firing an 88 mph strike on his firmest bullet."
